I'm still weirded out how the ML was 16-17 when this came out!!! At least get someone a little bit older...it's…
On the contrary, the creators should be praised for casting actual teenagers for teenage roles and not trying to deceive the viewers like their lazy Hollywood counterparts often do. Either do it properly like here, or don't do it at all.
Can you please share the drama with me? I didn't find subs synced to the raws available on net, so I was at a…
Have you heard of d-addicts? It has almost all the subs for Japanese dramas that exist anywhere. The subs you were asking for had been retimed instantly by the original author after he had uploaded the new raws.
Age gap doesn't exist if you don't look into actors' bios all the time. Until checking Wiki I was sure they both were between late teens and early 20s as most actors playing high school students usually are and was surprised about the actual difference. Anyway it doesn't show in the drama at all if you are just able forget about meaningless numbers. P.S. I don't know why would you stress so much on the actor's supposed uncomfortableness when such a scene would be clearly ten times more difficult for a young teenage actress than for an experienced grown-up man. Anyway, I thought it was a perfect and tastefully-filmed scene and they both did great.
A good actor who's been making quality dramas for more than two decades by now. Unlike his beach buddy Sorimachi who's never recovered after a kind of career slump in mid 00s.
Never fails to disappoint?! Then why do you watch his dramas? It doesn't make much sense why anyone would choose…
haha, no worries. By the way, I also like Sorimachi although not as much as before. I remember when I watched GTO like 10 years ago or so, which was also my first JDrama ever, I was really blown away by his unique style, charisma and way of acting that seemed like nothing I'd ever seen before. I remember wanting to watch as many of his dramas as possible and he really had some great ones between mid-90s and early 2000s or so. Too bad his career kinda slumped in mid-2000s and he never recovered his big star status ever since.
Again, a decent drama, but its main problem, at least for me, is that the 3 main characters (Mufuyu, Tomoya, Kyoichi) are probably the least interesting and charismatic of the whole bunch. While the other four friends have better stories that are not developed as well as they should have been. The focus is on the first three which lowers the general impression quite significantly.
Definitely one of the best Jdramas ever! If you still haven't watched it, do it now. And if you like it, don't miss another masterpiece from the same writer and much of the same cast -- Koi no chikara.
Quite a good drama in general apart from occasionally excessive and overlong melodramatic scenes, especially towards the end. Some are so long, I think up to 10 minutes, that they just lose any sense and fail to archive the result. That's the only real downside I think.
Not bad but there were just one too many moments of characters waxing poetic that made me lose my attention. I'm…
Never fails to disappoint?! Then why do you watch his dramas? It doesn't make much sense why anyone would choose a drama for a specific actor that he always finds disappointing. Or maybe you've just made a mistake and what you actually mean is the opposite, that he never disappoints or, using your phrase, never fails to impress?
It's not the Special for a Drama, it's something like a TV movie. ^^
Special and TV movie are the same thing if we are talking about Japanese television. In Japanese it is called 'tanpatsu' which means a one-episode (usually) feature-length TV drama
Pretty decent drama. But only before the predictable middle-part twist. After that it went only downhill and turned into complete farce by the end. All in all, one of the weaker Kimura's dramas of his golden years the popularity of which is a complete mystery to me.
2Blademan2: What on earth are you talking about? It seems you confuse her with someone else. Wakui Emi usually played sweet, naive heroines (Imoto Yo, Pure, Virgin Road) and this drama was a huge shift from that familiar image. But she nailed it easily proving once again her tremendous acting talent. Basically her unforgettable portrayal of Tomoko is the only thing this drama is really worth to be watched for. The main romantic storyline feels dull and shallow from the very beginning and never manages to turn into something really engaging till the very end. Mostly because of weak writing but also because of some really bad acting from the main actress. Maybe it could be a little better if Kasumi was played by someone more capable but we'll never know.
