All you keep on rambling about is how stupid this and that is but you forget to understand the behavior. thought and actions of all humans aren't the same. If you were in their place maybe you won't be scared but in such a situation people want solutions and aren't even in their right mind to think if this is right or not. He never overcame his fears he just made sure if he can't do anything about his death or explain it then he will make each and everyone lose their sanity by being scared all the time like he was. By so doing he succeeded. But there was a reason given. It was that they were sinners but as it went on the baby made us finally believe that it wasn't about sinners but there was something deeper than that and the new truth just wanted to use people's fear and want to live to control them. Some people believe that with the beating and how hideous those things were killing people that it wasn't God's doing. Few references to that statement was made in the movie. So to me everyone's actions made sense if you are able to put yourself in their position. We are all humans but do have different reactions when a supernatural social context is presented before as.

If you really read my comment and understood it you will understand I try to debunk your claim of the writer/ author not having an idea of what he was writing.He did transcend he idea very well. Fyi there wasn't any schedule time as to when people die. The point was anytime any where you could hear from the so called Angle of death. Also if you actually understood the storyline you would realize it wasn't messy at all Just that it left as at a cliffhanger and we are hoping for a season 2

From my point of it's worth watching. Majority of the people are brainwashed because they are scared. Seeing something as hideous as this murdering people because they said to be sinners can cause soo much fear that people will believe anything. Fear plus wanting to leave can cause so much damage than you no. And not every single person believed in it. If you really watched it very well there are some who don't that were doing their best to bring out the truth. Also ofcourse there will be politics. The government and new truth saw an opportunity to control people and they took it.. And in a world where there is more powerful people who kill to keep their secrets do you think bring the truth out will be easy?
So people who are finding it difficult to understand ask me a question and I will try my best to answer.. For those who want to watch the show, you should it's very good. But you have to carefully pay attention remember not all answers will be given...

If you did really watch the movie well and understood it you will realize they never knew the real truth behind people's dying that's why the organizations were created to control people's fear. In the story the Angel of death was a false statement created to make people believe... I don't think the writer was talking mainly about angel of death. And I don't no how this story was messy and it was executed poorly... Unless you didn't understand the story
To me the show is very good. I don't no why people are complaining that the characters in the show are dumb. When majority of the time their decisions are driven by fear and panic. If you are going through all sort of feelings at ones thinking straight or making good decisions to benefit everyone is hardly an option...
I was able to understand the characters why they did what they did... some for love, fear, anxiety, power, acceptance, regret, selfishness...etc. The only criticism is that it's too short

I did realize. He is willing to do anything to keep the person he loves by his side but also willing to fight against his nature to let go of the person he loves.
He doesn't see what he does as wrong and no one can stop from doing something if he set his mind to it. Not even his mother. But he was willing to compromise a little for the person he loves.
What would have interesting to know is how he developed such a cold personality

To some extent I think Yong Jie in his own weird way does care about Xing Si's friends.
I think he just has a has huge problem with express his emotions and communicate thus what he sees right might be wrong in the eyes of others. Even though it does not excuse his behavior, but I think thanks to his love/obsession with Xing Si, he is learning.
One problem I have with this episode is WHAT IS THE SECRET? How could they end like that.
