phenomenal cinematography and acting, but the storyline failed to impress me. too slow for my liking...
I started watching it because I've heard great reviews about it but yeah, the storyline was kinda boring for me. I got as far as the third episode. The first episode was really amazing though.
Episode 15 was so cute!! I am IN LOVE with Cha Eun Woo's smiles!! I melt everytime he smiles. Also seeing Mirae being comfortable with herself and more outspoken and confident. And that kiss, it was way better than I expected. Like wow, the chemistry between the two leads is spectacular.
For the people complaining about how long it took them to get together or that the way they're dating is 'childish'. You can't exactly expect a girl who's been bullied her whole childhood and made to feel worthless, jump into a relationship. How can a person who doesn't love herself, love someone else? Their relationship is new and both have them have never dated before so obviously they're gonna be awkward and shy while getting used to the relationship.
This is a really good drama so far. I love the way it addresses all the societal problems of sexism and objectifications.…
Agree with everything you said. I also watched that Knowing Bros episode and I wonder if Eun Woo ever gets annoyed by people telling him he's so handsome all the time.
I understand Mi Rae character and her low esteem because of her plastic surgery, gossip etc but I hope ep 12 it's…
Insecurities don't just magically go away one day. It's something people deal with throughout their lives. I personally have no problem with seeing her deal with everything she's been put through since she was a child and up until now.
Episodes 11 and 12 broke my heart. Mirae has been bullied and made to think that she is not worthy of being loved. She still doesn't have confidence in herself as she's also been made to feel terrible for having plastic surgery. Her insecurities and worry about what other people think of her hold her back from truly being happy with herself. It's an accurate portrayal of a person so damaged by society that she can't see her true self worth. I enjoy seeing her development in this drama and I really can't wait for the next episodes.
Also special mention to Yoon-Byul who said that she won't change herself and put up an act just to get a guy she likes. The many messages this show conveys is uplifting and refreshing.
Also, Kyung-Seok's confession and then subsequent rejection was too much for me. Both Soo-Hyang and Eun Woo displayed their emotions so well, I was tearing up.
but we saw it coming he's been saying that he got a specific type + girls were saying all his ex's were model…
Yeah, I'm not surprised that he said he likes her for her looks since it's been mentioned before that he likes pretty girls. He's a really nice guy though.
I knew about Soo Ah's "confession" from the preview but she spat her venom out of nowhere omg
That whole 'blessing to be pretty' line and what she said about plastic surgery really made me roll my eyes. I'm glad Mirae is finally seeing her for who she is.
I saw some comments about Eunwoo's way of acting with kind of a resting bitch face, and I noticed that actually…
There's really nothing wrong with his acting. His expression changes subtly in some scenes and I can easily pick up when he's annoyed or jealous or curious. Also, his way of speaking is very straight forward, which is great.
I really enjoy how this drama is progressing with each episode. The chemistry between the main leads is sweet, also the side character stories are just as enjoyable to watch.
Mirae and Kyung Seok's date was the most adorable and awkward scene yet, when she pulled out the chopsticks I literally laughed out loud. I like watching their relationship develop and grow. Also Kyung Seok's jealousy whenever Woo Young and Mirae are together!
I also like how we see Mirae's father slowly come to accept her decision to have plastic surgery and realise that she's still the same, just with a different face.
I just wanted to say that your review convinced me to watch My Ahjussi and it's the best decision I've made in my life. It's truly a beautiful and remarkable show, Thank you
