I think my biggest issue with ep 15 was the fact that I feel like Ren's confession to Gorya and rejection should have happened earlier in the show. Personally, I feel like he should have done it when Gorya pushed Thyme to being with Lita. He told Thyme that he made the wrong decision he wouldn't stand aside and he didn't do anything when Thyme was with Lita. It honestly made me feel like he would never really act on that threat because he had the perfect opportunity to do it there and actively chose not to. I understand that it was something that he needed to do in order for him to move on and that he was also doing it to make Gorya admit her feelings for Thyme. But I felt like his confession was a bit too much and kind of made me uncomfortable. During his entire confession, I wanted Gorya to stop him and not let him go that far.
I also feel like it was a complete disservice to the fans who ship Gorya and Ren since the writers waited until the second to last episode to clarify their relationship. I honestly don't know how the writers expect us to believe that Gorya should end up with Thyme when Gorya and Ren are always the ones who have these deep and meaningful conversations. I love Gorya and Thyme but the writers really sacrificed their relationship for the sake of the other characters. Having Gorya and Thyme get together in the end just feels wrong now since, honestly, Gorya and Ren have been built up to have such a deep bond and deep understanding of one another.
Another issue I had with ep 15 was how they handled Thyme's character. When Thyme got "kidnapped" and Kavin and MJ were giving him this big speech about love and how he can still make the right decision. I really wanted Thyme to not give a sh*t about what they were saying and say that he doesn't want Gorya anymore. I wanted Gorya to see that Thyme had really given up on her and for her to go to him anyway. This entire series its always been Thyme who is the one chasing after Gorya and I just wanted Gorya to chase after him too and make him know that she loves him. I get that she's going after him at the end of the episode but that's after she knows that he still loves her. I just felt like Gorya doesn't have to work for Thyme's love while Thyme has to put in all the effort. I expect that we're getting the amnesia plot next episode, so that's where we'll see Gorya fight for Thyme. But only getting one episode of Gorya fighting for Thyme is such a let down. I also really need to see Gorya apologize to Thyme for what she did to him. I need her to earn his trust back because right now I don't know how he can trust her again because all she's done to him is push him away and break his heart.
I also don't blame Thyme for not listening to Ren and chasing after Gorya at the beginning of the episode. Gorya basically ripped his heart out, shredded it, and then lit it on fire last episode, those types of scars run deep and take a long time to heal. Frankly, if I was in Thyme's position and someone that I loved did to me what Gorya did to him, I'd never want to see or even hear about that person ever again. Him being completely closed off and unwilling to trust makes perfect sense since the person he loved the most in the world completely betrayed him.
Last issue that I had with this episode, they missed such a good opportunity to use flashbacks! This entire episode, everything is reminding Gorya of Thyme and I just wanted to see glimpses of her thinking about him. The writers know that its audience is smart enough to pick up on the deja vu in this episode but I still would have enjoyed it shown explicitly.
It really is a shame with how much this series has fallen off. To me the first 9 episodes of this show are a masterpiece but its gone downhill since then. This episode was really the nail in the coffin for me and turned this series from the best adaptation into one that's honestly pretty forgettable. Maybe the last episode will change my mind, but I don't have the faith in the writers to give this show a proper ending.
