I don't think Haruto killed Ruka. For one, the duvet on Ruka was still pristine white. The stabby thing would've been a brutal and bloody way of killing someone, I don't believe for a second that no blood would be spilt. Secondly, the weapon was washed and left to dry in one piece, if that stabby thing was used, then surely it would be left to dry separated in two pieces.
