I honestly expected much more from this, especially since it’s part of the Concrete Utopia universe. The story feels underdeveloped and the characters are poorly written and lack depth. Even though the cast is strong, their talent doesn’t really come through here. Overall, it just doesn’t come together as a solid project. Not really worth your time.
Also, when they start readings one by one, the judges immediately react and give strong sounds - which gives hints…
Shows like this are usually written in advance, and every participant plays a role. Very often they are told what to say. Most TV programs with psychics have been exposed many times. Years ago there was a very popular russian show watched in Russia and other CIS countries. Later, the creators and some participants admitted that every word and sentence had been written in advance, like a script.
Only two episodes left. I hope they properly develop the main character and give us a satisfying ending. This series left such a strong impression that it will be hard to move on from.
Can you spoil me Woogyum’s motives in the book?? also what happens to him in the end
In the book, his character is much darker, he killed over 200 people, did experiments, and said he was trying to “heal” them. I think not being able to save his father may have pushed him to act this way, like he was trying to prove he could save people no matter what. In the end, the prosecutor kills him.
Honestly, after reading the book, I’m glad they changed a lot in the adaptation. The story feels more exciting and unpredictable, and that’s what makes it so interesting to watch. With only two episodes left, I really hope they show the main character more deeply. I hope the ending will be strong and make sense.
The first two episodes were amazing. There were moments when I couldn’t hold back my tears, and other moments when I was laughing out loud. Such a strong emotional range in just two episodes. A really great start.
Lately I often notice one thing on MDL.High ratings go to romance shows where the characters are basically empty. No depth no inner conflict no development. And what is interesting is that the same audience then gives low ratings to shows that make the viewer think. Where you have to face morality conscience and uncomfortable questions. Shows that question morality are harder to digest.
From the very beginning, when he found the old man, I suspected that the old man was him. If I understood correctly, in the very last scene, it was him, only aged.
Thank God I kept watching after that confusing and kinda boring first episode. The second one is way better and much more entertaining. Now I’m actually hooked and can’t wait to see what happens next.
I translated the Korean text from a Facebook photo. It was a thank-you note, the filming dates from August 12 to December 30, 2024, and a note that the filming has officially wrapped. Hopefully it will be released soon.
