This is not they typical fairy tale damsel in distress, emotionally damaged hero type of drama. Plus, thereโs…
I like it. This genre seems to cater to young adults going thru life in general just like The Tale of Rose. Good drama shouldn't just be centered on rich ML CEOs and damsel in distress FL.
OMG, these two are the supposed love line, I thought it was her and the secretary.
in ngnl, they pretty much have an interesting storyline as much as they were the only ones in the drama whose in a love triangle so far, more than the leads themselves lol
the first few minutes of ep 4 made me question if i was really watching the same drama (ngnl) lol.. i forgot that the ceo, writer and ceo's secretary were only supporting roles because as far as i can see, they have their own storyline. not gonna lie, i am rooting for the ceo, but kinda sad for the secretary, he's the one the writer likes way back in hs. but then again, looking forward to the ceo and writer's chemistry in the future episodes :)
A typical kdrama plot wherein it's safe to assume that the ones we thought the killer will be is the least likely to be one. I highly doubt that the father is the killer or maybe it was an accident but the writers will let us believe that the father did it because of the subtle clues we're being shown at.
If you observe Susu and their boss' life experience, Rose will go through the same challenges ie. marrying the…
That's your opinion. That is why I said that nobody is perfect. Even HYM character is not perfect. That is the reality of life. But what i like about it is that you can change for the better. Learn from your mistakes.
Also HYM is at the peak of her career, in the sense that if you take in consideration at that timeline, some women don't have the freedom to have a career. Women are fighting equal rights as men have even in today's society. Yes she was an intern, but she was given many opportunities by tina and susu to lead and be a curator. That alone is a big leap in a career woman's life in the early 90's and 2000's esp in china where women are expected to be a housewife.
There's no relationship that is perfect. Even married couples, parents take risks and sacrifices for the sake of family. It just so happens that she broke up and freed herself from ZGD only to experience the one thing that she's afraid of to FXW. Yes, FXW manipulated her, quitting her job for her without even telling her. But did she do anything? Did she retaliate like what would have been with ZGD given the chance if they did end up together? No. She broke up with ZGD, while she endured everything with FXW. She stayed in their marriage, even bore him a child She knows that she was manipulated by her husband but she still stayed. And its too late for her to realized that because you can't truly know well the person you are with up until 5-10 years of living together.
And no. We are watching the same series. It just so happens that we have different opinions, different experiences in life. And i respect your opinion if that is how you feel.

For what i believe, ZGD never in any form "used" HYM. Surely he was never perfect from the start, has his own issues (coming from a divorced parents, a mom who changes boyfriends and a dad who according to his mom, is poor and never achieved anything). That's why he's ambitious and wants to succeed and we can't blame him for it. He dreamt of stability.
However, HYM lived in this kind of secure bubble (beautiful, good career, loving and supportive family) that she might think that being lovey-dovey is all that matters. And like every normal relationship, one can have miscommunication and misunderstandings too. It just so happens that HYM and ZGD are both at the peak of their careers and may be too immature to weigh on things. They were in love but they were also very passionate with their work to compromise. To think they weren't even married yet to restrict each other. You can't possibly tell your partner not to leave (as in the case of ZGD leaving for France) for the sake of the other.
If given a different timeline, had they not broken up and endured the long distance relationship, who knows, they might have gotten married. HYM might not have moved in shanghai and met her narcissist, controlling, psycho husband. But then we wouldn't have the tale of rose if this happend (lol).
Also, ZGD never forbade her from doing anything she doesn't want. He was supportive of her career. So why can't she be to him? But a person can learn from past experiences and mistakes. They broke up, she quit her job, went back to school to study psychology. She met her husband, supported him (financially) and even gave up working just so she could prepare giving birth. She also put onhold her career to be a full time mom for 5 years. The problem was not her getting married and having a kid. It's because of the person she chose to be with, her asshole jerk of a husband. He was never supportive of her career and passion in the first place. Her husband slowly dimmed her light. Meanwhile, she chose to tolerate his manipulations and turned a blind eye. Which is a total 360 degrees turn of her character. She was never like this in the past, especially with ZGD.
That is why I can say that along the way, she may not be a perfect individual, but she's changed and became more mature as she gets older. That too applies with ZGD as well as her husband (now ex-husband because they divorced in ep 28 ๐๐).

Let us also remember that the timeline of this story is when women were still required to be a house wife after getting married. This is also the time where women were slowly fighting for the right to work, to have equal treatment as men and to be recognized in society.
If ZGD and Yi Mei would have worked things out and actually compromise on certain goals they would have worked.…
He did appear on the ep 28 teaser. He's seen helping HYM carry her daughter. And i do believe that he still loves and cares for her because he wants to reconcile and get back together. The only problem is the appearance of Wallace Huo is also in ep 28 as one of HYM brother's close friend. This will eventually start the third love / soulmate arc. And I'm kinda sad for ZGD to be honest. If you count the years that passed, he's still there for HYM ๐ฅฒ might as well they get back together after the fourth love arc.
