One minor mistake: If you have a talent, you have it naturally. You don't have to work on it to improve it. So,…
Suzy does not have a natural talent for acting—that is correct. Rather, she's become a 𝘴𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘥 actress through years of hard work and dedication to mastering her craft.

THE REIGN OF BOGUM + SUZY IS HERE!!! 🙌 Projects that experience major setbacks, such as a prolonged production period, usually end up becoming massive successes. All the struggles the Wonderland team have had to undergo for this film since 2019 will be rewarded this year! Mark my words!

Is the character bipolar? That’s textbook bipolar behavior.
It was never directly addressed in the original source, but bipolar disorder is the impression I got, along with depression.

Although opinions about this drama are divided, I have to applaud Suzy for delivering another strong performance. Her acting skills have been questioned throughout her entire career up until last year's Anna. Regardless of the writing or execution here, Korean journalists and netizens have had nothing but praise for her yet again. Doona is a complicated character, and Suzy portrayed both the quiet inner turmoil and raw emotional outbursts with precision. For those who found the contrast in her moods (alternating from hyper to gloomy) jarring and believe Suzy failed at comprehending her role—well, that's how Doona was actually written in the manhwa. It's obvious she suffers from some form(s) of mental health disorder due to all the stress and trauma from her past. One thing for certain is that Suzy is capable of taking on more challenging roles from now on. She truly excels in darker genres.

I CAN FEEL IT!!!!! This drama will be the next Netflix hit!!! From the official trailer, it's clear that Doona! is more than a simple college romance. I'm beyond excited to see the deep emotions and complicated relationships being explored! Doona is such a broken character, and I believe they will do justice to her story. Suzy will knock it out of the park with her performance, especially because her experience as an idol is so similar to the female lead in here. Get ready to be blown away by her acting!

Being more domineering - okay, cool, but here, based solely on the teaser, it seems like the Fl aggressively harasses…
I never implied that if there are two people who are interested in each other, it's okay to engage in intimate acts even if one of them isn't ready yet. My point in bringing up the male lead's dialogue from the teaser was to prove that by him apologizing for crossing the boundary as a friend, it gives off more of the impression that their intimate moments are consensual rather than unwanted or forced upon by the female lead. My dissection of the line "It was my fault, overstepping the mark without having the conviction to do so" was that he was a willing participant but regretted his actions because he couldn't commit to a serious relationship with the female lead, thus giving her false hope.

My original argument was about the double standards viewers have when it comes to an assertive female lead versus an assertive male lead—how people instantly sympathize with the man because a flirtatious and confident woman can't be trusted and is only "toying" with him, whereas when a dominant and arrogant guy pursues a timid girl, no one ever questions whether he's treating her with sincerity and if she could end up with a broken heart, as some of the comments below insinuated about Joon and Doona's situation. However, you commented under my post veering off into the territory of harassment, so I named two of the most popular dramas in recent years with irrefutably problematic female leads to make a comparison. When I said people tolerated those female leads, I meant the overwhelming majority of international fans who glorify them. It just so happened that when I checked your page after your claim of being a Suzy fan, I noticed that you also watched both dramas I mentioned.

No one here is invalidating victims or generalizing their experiences. Unless the drama has already been released and all scenes are available to watch in their entirety with full context and no edited cuts, I'm free to make my own interpretation of the teaser and disagree with your assessment that harassment is taking place. Again, you commented about harassment first; I only made a rebuttal with my own analysis of the scenes and dialogue, and I will stick to it.

You still haven't answered my question about how Doona "aggressively harasses" Joon in the teaser. I don't know how anyone can come to that conclusion from a few slow-motion shots. She never forced herself on him, pinned him down/to a wall despite his protests, dragged him by the wrist, made suggestive/inappropriate remarks, coerced him into doing something he didn't want to do with threats of violence, isolated him from having interactions with other potential love interests, etc. There was even a consensual kiss (not shown entirely). The other kiss is ambiguous, but for it to be called "aggressive harassment", the male lead would have to be visibly dodging the female lead's advances since you're claiming that he's "clearly uncomfortable". All of the female lead's actions so far can be considered flirtation, except for the lap scene, which I already explained in my first reply. The male lead obviously shows attraction/interest in her as well, albeit with caution. For example, shaking his head when he realizes he was dazed by her beauty and admitting he shouldn't have crossed the line between friends and lovers: "It was my fault, overstepping the mark without having the conviction to do so." Even without knowing the context of the original source material, anyone can still detect the implication that the male lead is romantically interested in the female lead to some degree. The reason why I mentioned the other two dramas is because those female leads are idolized as "strong" characters by international viewers, even with their blatantly abusive behaviors, which would normally be scrutinized if the roles were reversed. You didn't seem to have such vocal objections with the unhealthy relationships portrayed there either seeing as you finished both dramas. Yet, a female lead like the one here who is simply acting seductively towards her male lead with a tame statement like "don't fall for me" while looking "smug" is labeled as so toxic that it's upsetting. Also, accusing me of having a victim complex when I simply countered your point is typical of a non-Suzy fan, so you can give up the act.

Uh....how does Doona "aggressively harass" Joon? The only scene where the male lead expresses any slight feeling of discomfort is when the female lead lies down on his lap. Even then, his reaction is more taken aback. An actual example of a female lead aggressively harassing a male lead is It's Okay to Not Be Okay. If we're discussing strong female leads with toxic traits, then Hotel Del Luna should also be included for the way the female lead manhandles and intimidates the male lead on numerous occasions. If the actions of these female leads can be justified and tolerated, then Suzy's character in this drama shouldn't even be a topic of debate, especially based off a 45-second teaser.

The irony of people assuming that Suzy's character is a player when she's actually the one who's devoted to Yang Sejong's character. I guess a confident and domineering woman is viewed as a red flag, whereas the reverse dynamic is acceptable. If anything, the female lead in here is more likely to get hurt by the male lead since he constantly struggles with his desires for multiple women. This is a major reason why I'm more invested in Doona's emotional growth as opposed to the romance between her and Joon. She deserves someone who doesn't question whether to choose her or his other love interests.

she's not that bad sheesh. Idk why people hate her so much.
Suzy has already proven herself, earning respect and praise for her transformation in Anna. The drama was released on a streaming platform in Korea, so international fans aren't aware of its impact, but critics, viewers, and the media unanimously hail this as Suzy's "life work". She received rave reviews for her performance and was nominated for this year's Baeksang Best Actress Award (one vote away from The Glory's Song Hye Kyo) along with two Best Actress wins at the 2nd Blue Dragon Series Awards and 21st Director's Cut Awards. A famous journalist stated, "It felt like witnessing an overwhelming soaring rather than a step-by-step growth of an actress." Suzy could use one more follow-up project (drama or film) to solidify her acting reputation, but she has already succeeded at changing the public's perception of her.

Mark my words: WONDERLAND WILL BE A GLOBAL SENSATION. I might be the only person left who hasn't lost hope for this despite the amount of time that's passed. As someone who's been following this pairing's journey since their first interaction at the Asian Artist Awards in 2016, I can attest that perfect timing TRULY exists for Bogum and Suzy. Everything has ALWAYS worked out in their favor—bigger and better than I could've ever hoped for or imagined. My confidence in this movie is unshakable.

I really hope this live adaptation maintains the thrilling yet somber tone of the animation. Suzy is the only person I can see portraying Doona after watching it. She has over a decade of personal experience as a top idol/celebrity who suffered with depression due to extreme pressure from the spotlight (refer to her past interviews, self-composed music, variety/reality shows, etc.). There were numerous scenes in the animated version that made me sympathize with Suzy knowing that she actually went through similar situations. This drama could be very intriguing and deep if it explores more of Doona's psyche rather than putting all the emphasis on the love square.
