Xuan is a complex character with great depth. It's no surprise that Dong Hua confirmed again and again he's the male lead of this story. Zhang Wan Yi did a great job bring his character to life.

It's one thing to analyze the depth of each character and point out their weaknesses and strengths, it's another thing to just badmouth one character to prop up your fave ship like a lot of XL fans are doing, If you read this comment section throughout, so many comments said that Jing doesn't "deserve" her (like she didn't make her own choice in loving him), how he is weak, entangled with other women and can't protect her. XL is the only one who deserves her love because he can protect her blah blah.

XL fans are always the loudest bunch it's super annoying. They can't stop trash talking both Jing and Xuan and then act like victims the moment someone writes a negative thing about their fave character. I had to make this account after seeing funny comments like "Xiao Yao actually loves XL more than Jing" (no she doesn't) and "XL is the real hero of the story" (no, Xiao Yao is, stop trying to make a man the focus point in a female-centered story).

No, if you read the novel, she only has feelings for Jing. XL is her soulmate and that is ok, not every relationship must be a romantic love.
