After finishing the series... I think the series’ production quality was superb, the acting was on point (Xing Si’s dad had me reaching for the pillow to hug and cry to), but sadly the storylines suffered from some of the decisions made by the writers. Watching the finale you can understand what they wanted to do, but they could’ve easily find another (less problematic) way to get there. Overall, I recommend to anyone interested: watch the show (even if you skip parts) and form your own opinion.
I'm up to episode 5 and I can see why some people think the things that happened in the first few episodes are kind of off-putting, but to those people I say: REMEMBER, you are watching a BL series, which comes with certain tropes and stories that are not meant to be viewed as "REALISTIC". Even the most harmless of situations that you might see in a BL series, would NEVER happen in real life. No BL story encourages or excuses any type of behavior. If people do shitty things, it's because they're shitty people, not because a show, a game or something else made them do it. With that in mind, Yong Jie only thinks about himself, I hope he changes as the story goes forward, because so far I don't like him for Xing Si. T_T And can I just say I'm loving the Mu Ren and Li Cheng pairing. They're soooo cute together omg I can't! *3*
After some missteps, Viki is doing amazing work on putting out good stories without sacrificing characters or relying too much on fanservice. “You Make Me Dance” doesn’t have a realistic set-up, it’s a tv show, but if you put that aside and just watch the story unfold it will surely sweep you off your feet. *Including “Color Rush”, I see this as a great step forward for BL’s in Korea.
Around episode 8, I found Knock's actions sooo annoyingly incoherent, that I actually started paying more attention to that bi-atch Pleng and her evil machinations 'cause it was more interesting than whatever stupidity Knock was doing. Gosh he is sooo dumb! The show was just ok, i skipped most parts of the final episode... at the end it became a mess. You can skip this one.
I agree with people saying this needs to be longer, with more world building, knowing more about how the laws work for monos and probes. But overall, looks like there's a bright future ahead for BLs in South Korean. Yeeey!
DON’T LISTEN TO THE HATERS; cute, forward and super funny, if you’re looking for a combo of a short series and a quick BL fix, you’re in the right place. This is the story of a boy in love from a distance, who grows bold and unapologetically goes for what his heart wants.
My biggest regret is that I read the “TOP” reviews and the people in the comments (trolls mostly) saying this was trash, which made me put this series on hold, BIG MISTAKE, because I missed on the hype and I could’ve FALLEN IN LOVE WITH THIS SERIES MONTHS AGO! I will definitely watch again. It’s not perfect, but is short, sweet, funny (I laugh sooo hard in every episode) and I sincerely recommend it. I came here for the BL and stayed for the BL. Stay safe!
I didn't find Dark Blue and Midnight toxic at all. It showed the complexity of adult relationships painfully and…
By episode 3 was ready to jump ship and abandon this one... Third litterally cried the first three episodes i was getting annoyed. But the characters are well written so Im on episode 4 now lol.
