… I did NOT expect to love this this much…

I just finished S1 and wow… I did not expect to love this this much.

I went in thinking this was going to be “find a missing body every episode” and I’m so glad it wasn’t. The mystery kept expanding and somehow every answer just gave me another question. I was constantly trying to figure out who was connected to what, who the real heir was, who was behind everything, and where the hell is Hyung-ji.

And Joon-ho… sir. You are a masterpiece lol. I swear half the time he was on screen I forgot there was a mystery because I was too busy staring at him. But seriously, his storyline with Yona broke me. The scene where he was talking to her without knowing she was right there, begging God to bring her back and saying he had nothing left if she was really gone… I was SOBBING.

Kim Wook pissed me off so many times with how much he kept hiding from everyone haha but I ended up really loving him and Pan-seok together. And Jong-ah too, she was the Hermoine of the trio. Also the reveal that Joon-ho was the lost grandson?? I suspected it but I was still screaming when it was confirmed and I felt bad that he blamed himself for everything.

Thomas was my favorite… Hawaii Café was basically the heart of the village. I’m going to miss him so much. And now I’m actually sad thinking about all the people who might end up in the village without Thomas there to welcome them. but I’m also happy for him.

The ending confused me a little though. They stopped seeing the village after their connections were resolved, so why did they suddenly see another village or whatever that was? Why could Kim Wook see it too? And where is Hyung-ji?! is she really gone? I NEED ANSWERS.

And Thomas suggesting there might be other villages made me wonder how big this supernatural world actually is.

Anyway, this was definitely a 9.5/10 for me. It didn’t reach my 10, but it came VERY close. I’m genuinely excited for S2.
