3 episodes in and I'm intrigued. LMH is of course a scene stealer, YYJ is a legend,(just finished Youn's stay), and I thought Sunha had a very good 3 episodes and really came to life for me as I have read the book.
About the book...
The first 1/4 or 1/3 I thought were epic, it was like the Korean "Roots" for me. I was amazed and enthralled. Unfortunately, for me the book then goes off the rails and becomes a mess. It was a huge disappointment and I wished an editor or 5 had stepped in.
That's why I think this series has much more potential. It was an excellent choice to time skip, the story is told much better this way and we also don't have to wait to see YYJ grace the screen. I'm a fraction of a bit worried that it would lose it's way like the book but I do have faith in Justin Chon, you guys must absolutely watch Blue Bayou. I have a feeling it will be a much better TV series than book.
It's gotten almost universal praise and aside from Solomon deserving a Will Smith slap for his previous behavior I think it will be a huge success. And LMH will be a super duper duper star by the time it's over.
