Firstly, is it cliché? Absolutely. But the chemistry is serving, the airplane aesthetic is super cool, and I am officially obsessed. 10/10 and recommend if you need a cute rom-com to turn your brain off to.
Secondly, it's a C drama! It's just a cute, feel-good world where everything eventually works out for their careers and their romance.
Now the serious stuff 😊
There are no fake dramatic conflicts or the typical "male lead saves the day" plot. The two stand on opposite sides of the workplace, getting to know each other again while dealing with their past issues. What makes this show so touching is how both characters are strong in their own ways: The female lead is clear-headed and independent, earning all her success through daily hard work and persistence. Facing industry prejudice, office gossip, and tough assessments, she always stands tall and faces challenges head-on. Her main goal has always been chasing the blue sky; love was never her solution to life's problems.
And the male lead isn't just some floating, domineering CEO. Even though he's in a high position, he's also under pressure to reform the industry. He might seem cold on the outside but is warm on the inside. As he slowly learns the truth, he learns to let go of his arrogance and respects a girl's passion and determination and supports her all the way yet giving her the space when he needs to. What a gem of a man 🥰
Romance: Feels modern and deeply empowering to me. I was highly entertained by the high-friction, petty tension of their early interactions. The idea of females not having to sacrifice career for love hit me. It's a comforting fluff. No annoying love triangles and devastating breakups. Miles Wei is swoon-worthy 🥰
When it comes to workplace details, this show is really authentic. The production team built a 1:1 replica of a flight simulator, and aviation professionals guided the cast and crew throughout filming. Scenes like air-ground communication, flight assessments, and emergency handling all match real industry situations, without any obvious mistakes. The pressure in the aviation industry, the stereotypes female pilots face, and the complicated realities behind airline reforms are all shown in detail, making the whole story feel real, not just another idol drama with a workplace setting.
Miles Wei delivers it time and time again! Playing a CEO is actually super hard! If you don't nail it, it gets so greasy. It's really tricky to get the balance right--definitely a huge test of acting skills. And he absolutely nailed it!!
Liu Xiening was ok. FOR ME, Miles was more deeply involved in his character than LXN
Music- super cool. "Beautiful Life" is uplifting and is on a loop ✨️ 😍
Definitely recommend ❤️
