I'm sorry to say but this was such a terrible review. If you wanted to watch hot men, why would you attempt watching this drama? That makes no sense, this is a complete different genre. As for IU, I think she did amazing. If you read about her past, she also grew up poor, with unsupportive relatives and parents that abandoned her. and was chased by debt collectors and raised by her grandmother just like in the drama. Assuming she is privileged based on her current status is such an overreach, she's a talented actress who she captured the emotions of the character as best as one possibly could.
Korean culture is the reason I'm so open about exploring new cultures and gaining new experiences. As an introvert who'd refuse to get out of my comfort zone, Korean culture (K-Pop and K-Dramas) has forced me to get out of my hometown (which I never left for 17 years) and travel around the world and experience so many things that wouldn't have been possible if it hadn't been for how curious I was about Korean culture. Now that I'm older, I realize the closed introverted who would never leave her hometown is moving abroad in a few months to study in a whole different environment and that wouldn't have been possible if not for Korea
