Many relatable dating situations. The comedy is top-notch. Great acting and chemistry between the leads too. If you like romcom, you should not miss it imo.
Regarding ML’s relationship with his ex, -Deborah: he is a bad boy who does not want to label the relationship so that he can continue to explore … -I thought he was just clueless and didn’t know how to express love verbally -Ep 7 reveals that he just did not love her enough. Turns out that he just went along with the flow.
A few hours ago, I said ML characteristic is unrealistic, but now I have to admit that he’s realistic in this regard. Many times we hurt our partners unintentionally because we don’t fully understand ourselves or our emotions. That message does come across well in this ep.

From your point, then indeed the character is not that unrealistic. A devoted friend yet clueless boyfriend (if we can label the latter that way). And today episode reveals the real reason: ‘he’s just not that into her’ (his ex).
I thought it's a typical romcom with simple-minded characters. But 6 eps into it and I found FL very relatable. Love how the sisterhood and friendship are portrayed too. Yoo In Na and Yoon Hyun Min are doing a good job with their roles so far. It's just a pity that the ML character is still unrealistic. How can he be so inconsiderate to his ex but so caring to the FL? It's like the writer is slapping us with reality via FL character and still feeding us with fantasy via ML character at the same time.

If you don't enjoy the first 33 eps, then I am not sure whether the rest can live up to your expectations. But if you are into angsty, dramatic plots, and want to see the story through to the end, then you should continue. Also, if you define clearer what you mean with get better, then others can help you too.
