A Refreshingly Real Start to an Office Romance!

As someone who has been waiting far too long for another Seo In Guk drama, I went into See You at Work Tomorrow! with high expectations—and after Episode 1, I'm relieved to say it didn't disappoint. What immediately stood out was how natural everything felt. This isn't a flashy rom-com that throws dramatic meet-cutes and over-the-top conflicts at viewers in the first hour. Instead, the episode takes its time introducing exhausted office worker Cha Ji-yoon and the everyday struggles of corporate life. The workplace setting feels authentic, from the endless deadlines to the emotional burnout that many viewers will probably relate to. Of course, the biggest highlight was Seo In Guk. He has always had a talent for making even the smallest expressions feel meaningful. His character comes across as calm and composed on the surface, but there are subtle hints that there's much more going on underneath. Even with limited screen time devoted to backstory, he commands attention whenever he's on screen. What I appreciated most was the drama's mature tone. Rather than rushing into romance, the first episode focuses on the characters' emotional states and the realities of working life. That slower approach gives the story room to breathe and makes the developing relationship feel like something worth investing in.
After just one episode, it's too early to judge the overall story, but the premiere successfully hooked me. The writing feels grounded, the chemistry is already promising, and Seo In Guk's return alone makes this a drama I'm excited to follow every week. If Episode 1 is any indication, See You at Work Tomorrow! could end up being one of the most relatable workplace romances of the year.

A Lazy Heroine, a Cold Demon, and a Surprisingly Sweet Romance..

This drama is a refreshing addition to the xianxia genre. At its heart, it’s not just about immortal battles or flashy VFX, but about how love can transform people in unexpected ways.

The story follows Sima Jiao (Arthur Chen), a powerful cultivation master sealed for centuries, and Liao Tingyan (Wang Yinglu), a modern soul who accidentally enters the immortal world. Unlike the typical ambitious heroine, Tingyan is a true "salted fish" who wants nothing but to live comfortably. Her lazy yet sincere nature slowly warms the cold, distant Sima Jiao, and their relationship develops naturally—sometimes funny, sometimes touching. Their romance spans lifetimes and realms, giving both sweet moments and heavier, bittersweet ones.

Production-wise, the costumes and set design are gorgeous, with bold colors and detailed layers that make the fantasy world stand out. The VFX can feel uneven at times, but there are also moments of real creativity that capture the "otherworldly" feeling the story promises. The episode count was cut down from 40 to 33, which actually works in its favor, making the pacing tighter and avoiding the usual filler common in long xianxia dramas.

The leads have surprisingly good chemistry—Arthur Chen delivers a restrained but emotionally charged performance, while Wang Yinglu brings a grounded, witty energy that makes her character likable and relatable. Supporting characters add dimension, though a few arcs feel rushed due to the episode cuts.

Overall, When Destiny Brings the Demon balances romance, humor, and fantasy in a way that feels fresh, even if some of the CGI and side stories don’t fully land. If you enjoy xianxia with strong character dynamics and a love story that grows from small, genuine moments, this is definitely worth watching.
