I think people forget how incredibly shy and reserved Won Bin is. If you watch most of the snippets of behind the scenes in the productions he's worked in, he doesn't even talk much outside his lines. The drama and movie scene has changed a lot and is marketed differently. Back when he was active actors were able to be mysterious and didn't need to promote as much. Now most top actors are vlogging and are on social media they cannot stay lowkey anymore. If he chose a role, he would be a huge sunbaenim leading the cast and crew but his personality doesn't suit that and its a lot of pressure. If the production doesn't do well he will probably lose brand value too and maybe even blame himself. It is said he has turned down a lot of good roles that was written with him in mind. But who knows if those roles would've had the same impact with him as the main actor. If he were to make a comeback it would probably be with other another huge top actor to help him lead. It would be nice if he came back with a mature romcom and his wife as a lead. Maybe that will help him ease back into the scene since his wife is the main person he talks to the most.

This is a great drama! The script is very well written!! The first couple of episode was a bit slow imo but it begins to pick up after that. Many dramas these days are a lot shorter like 12 episodes but this one is 16 episodes but it did not feel all that long. They could've actually expanded more if they wanted to but the drama is great the way it is and it ended by closing all the stories without any gaps or feeling like it dragged. I like that it is not overly dramatic or intense and it doesn't have a lot of twists that end up making the plot confusing like a lot of historical k-dramas tend to do. I love love love the focus on the Queen and her kids and how strong the Queen truly has to be in order for things to run smoothly in the palace. I do wish they added the element of raising daughters too or some glimpses of it. Like older daughters I mean. The focus is very much on raising sons and I get that, it comes with the territory of the time it took place but if you're going to make a drama that shows a more progressive Queen, there should've been a side story line with raising daughters too. Just my two cents if I had to choose something to be critical about. Because there's no way the King did not have any daughters when he has that many concubines. Overall, would definitely recommend people to watch it. It was a great drama!

You guys should read up on the actual true story. I still really hate the fact that the real assaulter has been released in 2020 and went back to the exact neighborhood that this girl lives in (where he also lived in) and is getting free money from the government. I'm really surprised nobody killed him when he was in jail. He was a lunatic and I can't believe his wife stayed by his side. What he did to the poor girl is so heart wrenching that she lives with a permanent disability for the rest of her life. Not just physical disability but the trauma as well and her dad worked so hard and still works so hard to protect her. Thankfully, the family moved but it's not an easy process because this victim has all her friends and a life of normalcy in her hometown.
