Actually very very Tim Burton's kind of drama at least first episode looked like, I liked the role reversal being…
That's a good comparison. I'm loving the FL most so far and ofc Kim Soo Hyun is amazing. Chemistry yeah, not much, it's mostly messed up intrigue as opposed to romance so far, so I'm interested how the tone can change. For me, the preview of ep 2 put me off, but I watched it and loved it. I also managed to drop King after the first 20 minutes so shrug
That's an interesting opinion, although I find it a little too enthusiastic. The question of what makes a good…
Yeah the first scene drew me in with the animation. The total beginning 10-15 minutes I thought was a great introduction to the two main characters and their surrounding people as well as showing us the type of visuals to expect from the drama. A good story is definitely the best over visuals. I'm not saying this has the best story so far, but out of the episodes I've seen (only 2), I've been drawn into all the characters and wonder what will happen to them. So far some of the tropes are cliched like childhood "friends" but it's been treated straightforward and not drawn out or randomly added (like HPL ugh) which gives me great hopes for the story going forward. I also see how unique some of the characters are (loving the FL and her costumes) and we have been given sneak peeks at potential character arcs, e.g. overcoming past trauma from ML. I would have to think a lot more about this and rewatch it for a point by point, so my enthusiastic comment was mostly a feeling after finishing the first 2 episodes.
Not just the best pilot episode ever, the best first 10-15 minutes. Any dramas I've seen that come close to this visual phenomenon are super boring, but here I want to see more of every single character. Now I wish I didn't start while it was airing
All the threads are tied up well leaving mostly closure, but the two who died return to death at the end. However, they both have doppelgangers who are still around.
Underrated gem and to date the only HK drama I've ever completed. Here we get undercover cops, forced cohabitation, slow burn hate to love relationship, with only minor misunderstandings along the way. Watched it in two nights and would highly recommend it.
Where in the world is Boys Over Flowers? LOL... that is the MOST prevalent example of a Kdrama on rich man poor…
My personal take on that would be while it is one of the best examples of the genre that doesn't make it one of the best of the genre. I literally hate the drama and if it had been my first I might never have watched another kdrama lol
