I hate dropping a series before I reach the final episode, and I really tried to watch it until episode 17 then I remembered that life is precious and I shouldn't inflict such torture on myself.
Save yourselves and don't waste your time like I did.

This drama came out in 2017, but I only watched it in 2026. Honestly, compared to newer dramas in the same genre, some parts felt pretty ridiculous. That said, I’m sure I would’ve thought the same even if I watched it back then. Like that scene where the ML and FL are running from assassins in the capital and suddenly end up in the wilderness… what was that?? It made zero sense. And the FL wasn’t even that smart, she mostly just got lucky all the time.

But I LOVED Mao Zi Jun as An Qing Xu, the ML’s brother. His acting was amazing. I still get emotional thinking about the scene where he sees the burn mark on his wife, Lin Zhi. The way he showed his pain and grief felt so real. He really nailed the role of a loving husband, and it left a strong impression on me. He’s seriously a very talented actor.

It was my fourth time watching it and I still cried.
I loved the Chinese version more than the Korean, but I still felt there was more chemistry between the FL/ML in the Korean version than the Chinese. The male lead in the Chinese version is a good actor and I LOVED his scenes in the last episode, but I couldn't see them together. FL had more chemistry till the end with 8th prince.

We literally got to see episodes after episode of He Yan struggling to move up the ranks while bonding with her…
Out of the 36 episodes, she only bonded with her team in around four of them.

When she comes back as herself she is no longer making the same effort to hide her identity as she did before.…
She/he was in school with Xiao Jue for the majority of her/his childhood, trained with him by his father, and finally was able to be a general who sustained multiple injuries during his/her career without having her identity revealed.
However, when she was injured during training, she was immediately found out to be a woman.

Agree with each your word! I started watching The Female general, but suddenly this drama draw my attention. I…
I was watching "Love of the Divine Tree" but couldn't muster enough interest to continue after a few episodes. I came upon a comment that recommended this drama, and I can confidently say that watching it was the best decision I made this year.
On Marry My Husband: Japan Aug 30, 2025
I watched the Korean version first and I knew the plot before I watched this one. However, I can honestly say that I enjoyed the Janeese version more than the Korean. The Japanese version was written in a more believable way, and the choices of ML and FL were better, not to mention that they managed to finish it in 10 episodes while the Korean took 16.
On Legend of the Female General Aug 29, 2025
As someone who grow up loving the story of Mu Lan, and watching any drama that hinted at it, I was very excited to hear about this drama, and I looked forward to it.
However, they lost me when they had the FL pretend to be her brother from childhood until she reaches the position of a general without being found out, only to be discovered early on by everyone when she comes back as herself and does the same thing.
They have also lost a big chance in allowing us to learn with her how to be a soldier step by step. It could have been funny and heartwarming to see her struggling to achieve her goals while bonding with her team. They could have also created a better relationship between ML and FL.
For me it was badly written but not a waste of time. Just leave it for when you do not have anything else to watch.

They should put a counter on dramas for the number of times that you have watched it.
I have finished watching it today for the third time and it stills amazes me. All actors were exceptional which made it a master piece.

Whyyyy, I needed to know who this "Park Eunchae" is 😭😭😭 I never trusted her because she was too suspicious…
Nooo. Park Eunchae was not real.
It was Yeong Ju who killed them but she imagined that someone else was there with her.

One of the worst dramas in recent years. I usually like to sometimes watch silly and simple dramas to distress, but this one actually added to my distress by how outrageously stupid it was. The only thing I liked in it was Kim Shin Rok (as Seo Myeong Ju), she always deliver on her portrays of different characters.
I don't recommend watching it. There are better simple and silly dramas out there that are actually funny.
On The Rise of Ning Jan 10, 2025
Despite the good cast and acting, the story was a complete disaster. It felt like a cheap knockoff of The Story of Ming Lan, with random bits and pieces from other dramas thrown together in a way that made no sense. The only thing the writers missed was adding a time-travel subplot or a demigod storyline.

There was no character development or depth to any of the leads. The characters simply followed the director’s instructions, and the audience was expected to believe it without any context or buildup. One particularly ridiculous scene stuck with me: one moment, the female lead (FL) was in an opera house, and the next, she was wandering through a forest outside the city—seemingly for no reason other than to engineer a miraculous meeting with the first main lead (FML) and the second male lead (SML).

The only saving grace was the acting of the cast (except for the FL). Everyone else delivered a marvelous performance. The sets and costumes were also beautifully done, which is why I gave it a 5/10.

y'all... where is dabi's elder sister?? am i missing sth? did the writers just forget about her character? it's…
I kept waiting for them to write her in the script and tell us that the evil mother shipped her to boarding school or committed her into a mental hospital for being rude or something, but they just ignored her entire existence and had her added to the family pictures. It was so confusing.

Nope, not for me. Managed up to episode 10, should have dropped earlier.
You are a stronger person than me. I forced myself to watch until episode 3 but couldn't go any further. I can't believe that some people rated it 8 when it didn't deserve even 5.

There is no explanation on the flashing red light inside yoo ah in, th did the terrorists do. Then, the asteroid…
They showed some parts were there was some internal conflicts and the people in prisons were used to create havoc so that people in power could escape. There were scenes were missiles were fired on cities and bridges and I guess the windmills got knocked down because of this.
But there has to be season 2 to explain what happened next and what is the bigger role of the ML.

is it really that bad??
I liked it.
I don't know why people are giving it such bad reviews.
The way they handled it made sense to me. If you were given months to prepare for the end of the world, and there was nothing for you to do because in the end it depends on having enough funds, what will you do?
For me it made sense to continue to live everyday as you did before, while you watch some people trying to take advantage of others.
In the end try to watch and make your own opinion on it.

Title In Blossom
This drama was such a disappointment for me.
I loved the first two episodes but the rest wasn't that good.
Ugly Cai Wei (played by Zheng He Hui Zi) did a great job of portraying the character well. However when (Ju Jing Yi) switched and took over the role, she wasn't that successful. Cai Wei was a girl who went through a family tragedy at age 10 and survived it to be shunned by society and still managed to be a successful forensic scientist. Ju Jing Yi unfortunately didn't deliver the character well. She looked and acted like the same pampered rich girl albeit kinder than the previous owner of the face. The actress is beautiful but she cared more about her looks than she should when the role needed a person that didn't care about how they looked or acted in public.
In the end, this drama left a bad impression on me and I do not recommend it.
