I agree with you there. Its indeed not for everyone. Moreover even I was confused at few scenes.. coz suddenly they got new clues.. suddenly everything is back in place.. suddenly they're getting closer after the fl not caring about him in the beginning and only wanting him to finish the book... they really shouldn't have cut off anything.. I don't mind watching longer dramas as long as they don't make it confusing

I think you should watch a bit more. The first two episodes might not be the best but it gets better. Moreover, he isn't completely useless. The clue he provided for the first case was also crucial. I think we can look forward to him more

Though others are criticising Guo Zijie here (which i agree with coz he does seem incompetent) but I feel like he isn't that dumb... he managed to help in getting evidence for the first case too. I think it's just the script which is weird. Also.. I would like to mention that the osts are great. The cases are intriguing too. So, all in all, I hope that those who are watching could watch a bit longer instead of dropping it based on the first or second episode itself. It gets better afterwards.

Also, I don't think Xiao Se is 8 years older than Qianluo, coz in the drama, the timeline gap between the time of birth of Xiao Se and the time of birth of Qianluo is max to max 6 years. But then again if we consider the BOY timeline, Xiao Se was 17 when he left and returned after 5 years so he was 22. And the Beili vs Demon Sect war was fought 12 years before that, which makes Xiao Se 10 when the war was fought. But I don't think Xiao Yu (he's only 2 months younger than Xiao Se) was that old when the war happened.... He seemed to be around 6 years old. So again the timeline doesn't make sense

Oh right yes. But then again the writer messed up the timeline. Another instance is Li Hanyi going to Mount Wangcheng to challenge Zhao Yuzhen. Hanyi went there twice within a period of 3 months and in BOY, Li Suwang said that he wanted to give Hanyi, the heart sword but she rejected it and went to get the Iron Glacier Sword after which she fought with Zhao Yuzhen. But in DY, Li Xinyue was still alive when Hanyi went to Mount Wangcheng, so how could Li Suwang just simply give Hanyi the heart sword which belong to her mother. Moreover regarding Mengsha meeting Xinyue, in BOY, Li Suwang said that Mengsha came with Dongjun and met Xinyue. But in DY, Mengsha was already married to Xinyue and had Hanyi before he met Dongjun lol

Not only that, Mo Yi mentioned that Xiao Se was injured by a female qi, So I think it was the joint plan of the eunuch and the night crow, coz the appearance of the eunuch that day was similar to Wuxin's appearance when he was under Night Crow's spell. Its just my speculation though. I'm not sure

Ye Ruoyi's dad is in DY. He's Ye Xiaoying and you can see him quite a few times alongside Xiao Ruofeng

In fact, Su Changhe won't become heartless in DY even till the end. What actually made him like this is included in the story of Anhe Zhuan whose timeline is between DY and TBOY.

In the novel, they do meet towards the end when Dongjun brings Wuxin with him to send him off with the abbot... However, I don't know how they will proceed with it in the drama. There are still chances though coz I saw the bts of a scene which involved Dongjun, Wuxin and the white hair deity

As a father to XS, XRJ did a good job. He sent XS away coz he sensed danger and was afraid that they would do something to him. But except for that, I don't like XRJ at all. So even though XS resents his father's decisions, he doesn't fully hate him.. and you can clearly see it in the last conversation between XS and XRJ
