Honestly your attempt to praise colonization felt similar to when you talk to someone about a dictatorship and they tell you that they also did good things. I mean, what countries really needed sooner was globalization not colonization ^^

But are you from a colonized country to say this? Personally I don't think the same but this tells you how deep is Shine plot to start these kind of fans conversations on sns
I don't know how to say it...I watched the first episode with my gay friend who's 93, I thought he'd enjoy it.…
I hope this series can also give you some comfort. Please leave a review at the end if you've time, I would like to read your thoughts after the last episode.
If you want to understand better Shine The Series 1st episode, you can watch this video posted few months ago by the official yt account of thai NESDC. — https://youtu.be/NLvhoVvJ3Ro?si=-eahi33LsmPAiR2I
After returning from Paris, Trin decided to turn down an important position in the Bank of Thailand to work for The National Economic Development Council. In the video they explain when and why this institution was created and his functions. This choice reflects Trin's idealism.
I'm not really sure the context in which they say its the first LGBTQ TV show in Thailand: I Told Sunset About…
There's a bit of confusion going around. If you watch their videos they said it's the first gay series of BOC not of Thailand. And mostly when asked explanations they don't go too deep, basically they just say that they're man now not boys, so it's strange to use the BL acronym when they look at how mature they're.
A bit of MileApo's recent interview for The Cloud. Haters can be loud on sns but let MileApo's words be louder :
M: If you have to choose one thing you dislike most about working as partner, what would it be?” A: Po don’t like competition. M: Such as? A: Like, I wanna be more famous than you, I wanna do better than you, or I wannna stand out more than you— Po find that really annoying. M: In that case, I don’t think it should even be called a partnership.
A: Po think it’s suffocating. Like we talked about before — no one can do everything alone. Sure, it’s good to be Mile, it’s good to be Apo, but being MileApo is even better. We’ve come this far together and seen it firsthand that on days when I’m a bit spacey, P’Mile steps in and supports me. On days when P’Mile is a bit off, Po also supports him. Like when I was struggling with what I'd say with the questions, P’Mile immediately stepping in and helped me.”
Po think that’s how a partnership should be. It’s like building a house, no single pillar is the strongest. Every pillar supports one another. I feel lucky to have a partner who believes in that too.”
I was following everything up until the writers (Mr. colonial and that reporter guy 🧐) … so, who wrote what?…
Before the airing, on the official accounts were posted other newspaper letters as teasers (you can find them if you scroll through the Photos section). At first the fandom thought that they were written by Tanwa and Trin, only in the 1st episode they finally gave hints on who the arguing writers were: Klai Rung apparently is Krailert and the reporter is the one responding to him. They simply use nicknames. This newspaper columns were common in Thailand at the time, some kind of vintage sns ahahah
This thai person on X explained pretty well the political and social context of the years in which Shine is set. Thailand was under a military dictatorship and like in Paris where Trin studied even in Thailand students and left wing protests were common.

Shine was shot on Sony VENICE, the same camera used for huge movies like:
– Top Gun Maverick
– Avatar II
– Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning
Shine's director also shared that Sony team flew to Thailand to visit Shine's production crew.
