Overall i'm happy - like really surprised this sets the bar for me on mini series, affter watching too much transmigation and embrace the dark night (felt like I was figuring out wtf is happening the whole time).

My only issue is during their 2nd official wedding, the FL is queen of jumping to conclusion lol - her default is emotional outburst before hearing her husband's side or explanation.

I was pleasantly surprised that Su Xinglo is alive at the end - like shouldn't there be episode 24 to explain how he miraculously survived 2 gunshots in republican era.

Lowkey hoping that they retained the ending up to her recalling memories - it's much more realistic. Given the cause that they were fighting for, they are bound to some sacrifices.

This is actually pretty good for a mini drama.

Idk how they will rewrite the novel to fit in China's censorship guide, but based on the 1/4 that I've read so far – they are a very sexy and cunning characters. I'm excited to see how they will play this out. I'm seeing a lot of test pics of Neo and LYX – all I can say is that they are STUNNING.

This drama felt like the writer was drunk and decided to do a gibberish story telling. No context or buildup of the characters, just straight up dating violence and rapey scenes.

I don't think (and I'm seriously hoping) that they will skip out
on the labor part. I think those scenes, if acted out, will give so much thrill and anxiety in this drama.

Out of all the side chatacters in the novel, I like Empress Shi the most. You wont see her being hungry for power, but she is very perceptive and strong in her silent ways. Her character arc makes Ziyu in this drama bearable for me.

Ziyu cannot easily do away with Concubine Yun as she is supported by Prince Sui. He's two faced, keeps them in check and it's kinda like 'I have so much to thank for Prince Sui's support so I'll still have her as concubine' – while planning to destroy them in the future.

Per novel, he let the courtesan
stay in the tent to write caligraphy, mainly because he misses the time when LMT asks him to teach her how to write in their little manor... so in his drunken state he imagines he is writing with his wife, but it does not compare – so the girl ended up writing till morning and wailed the next day calling CXZ a weirdo lol

I just freakin hope they leave out the part where Prince Sui attempts to make Miantang his concubine – trying to SA her multiple times, that mf had me disgusted the whole time.

I read the novel, but the drama route is so far better and has more depth in the characters.

I wish wetv has was like netflix that drops episodes in one go or super super VIP that allows me to burn coins till eternity for an airing show I'm willing to pay 💸💸💸💸
