i migjr actually be in the one percent rhays actually enjoying this drama....for me the first four episodes set…
I’m enjoying it, too! I think the leads’ chemistry is lovely, the angst is just right, the sisters are hilarious, and how the other couples are wrestling with their romantic relationships is funny and sweet. A nice slice-of-life with some mobsters and nice music.!It feels like a lighter summer watch, which is a welcome way to mix up all of the intense action dramas out recently.
Somehow Hulu released episodes 5 and 6 this past Wednesday, even before they aired in Korea…? I watched 5 and downloaded 6. I think the direction is interesting!
I wonder if it's gonna be another Buried Hearts situation. That show aired on Fridays and Saturdays on Disney+…
Same. I’ve been scouring all day for the platform. It’s so unfortunate (and frustrating) that these details seemingly can’t be found anywhere. This seems to happen with many dramas on Hulu, but I’m completely perplexed that it can’t be communicated.
@Purple_Haze I was bummed it ended before we could see them, but that was a nice way to finish!
Yeo Ri gave Choi InSeon a talisman to meet a handsome man earlier in the episode. When the Head Eunich comes to their house right at the very end, he says that something strange is happening in the palace, and my mind immediately went to the idea that the King and Choi InSeon had gotten together.
I did not love the writing, but that cast kept me coming back! And the opening is absolutely one of my all-time favorites—like I’d love a poster of that artwork.
I thought the writing was very uneven and even for a fantasy it had inconsistencies that bothered me, but THAT CAST! JiHun kept me coming back, and I loved the way SungJae played the dual role (even though I hated the way YunGap was taken out of the story and had such a hard time buying that Yeo Ri and Gang Cheol fell in love). Also, Park JaeJun is such a good young actor! It was fun to watch how well he did with the talented adult cast (I can’t believe he is listed as a guest role and not as supporting .,.? ). Anyway, it was really like a 7 for me but I rated it higher because of the acting and how it kept me engaged.
And I loved that she came to Nak-jun, because she told him clearly that she didn't like him (or anyone who hurt Hae-sook), so it felt to me like Sonya had forgiven him when he let Hae-sook go to have an opportunity to live an easier life without him.
I liked the ending. They've been together for 23 lives where she has always suffered because of him so he gave…
Yes, this! I also remembered the way Eun-ho told his parents it was time for them to let him go so they could free themselves from the guilt/burden of the past, and then we see Nak-jun giving Hae-sook the opportunity to live her life without his (apparently repeated) issues that burdened her in all of their married lives. She's in a private room on her deathbed, so we can assume she lived a financially more comfortable life without him, but even after that she feels her life is better with him, even when struggling. I was initially frustrated with how that went down, but his last line sent me into a big sob of emotion.
Absolutely not a perfect story, but truly so beautiful.
Yes, I was disappointed in the writing at the end - I felt it ran out of steam and the last episode felt so different. I still enjoyed the drama overall, but definitely a rushed finish.
I've been watching kdramas for quite a long time and I know the actor Bae Hyun Sung from the drama Our Blues and…
I watched GC2 when it came out, but it took me a few episodes of FBC to place him as the same actor! Excellent job in both roles that are so different. Definitely one to watch!
It was good to see an ending where they reconciled ❤️. For me, it was hard to predict which way it would go.…
I agree with all that’s been said about realizing their mutual responsibility and havingthe time to see a new perspective; also, she finally read the book and heard so much from his heart in the way that he is most comfortable expressing it, *and* he also made the effort to come after her, unlike before. Really, they both grew to see beyond their individual pain and allowed themselves to be vulnerable. The symbolism with running together in the end felt a little bit obvious, but also fit so well with their history. I will miss this one so much! So angsty and enchanting.
Yes! Finally the happy ending we were craving. Such a poetic drama, made with sensitivity and attention to detail,…
She also left without telling him why. The flashback about her father’s company failing was really helpful to illustrate how they both made mistakes in assuming the other person would magically understand their feelings. I find this kind of communication disconnect, especially in a first relationship, so real and relatable. I agree that it would have been lovely for her apology to be more specific, but I was so grateful that we got to see actual conversation about their feelings from both of them.
