Officially, there has been no suggestion of a love triangle. The SML has a rivalry with the ML over inheritance. He may have an important role to play, but I don't think he has any romantic feelings for the FL or vice versa.

IMO, what makes you "lead material" is neither looks nor visual compatibility.
