Ms Lin is always intentional, she targeted that house on purpose. Therefore there is high probability that making Yan tuo's mother into a murderer was her plan all along. Yan Tuo's mother said it was an accident and that she just pushed her. There is a high possibility that Ms Lin deliberately died in order to blackmail Yan tuo's mother and Yan tuo's family. Why was a plug there in the water?. Ms Lin was a helping around in the house. She probably set up everything, used Yan Tuo's mother emotional state and set the stage for her own death. That is why writers go out of their way to show a Male lead actually help with those things. Because usually they are not expected to those things nor forced to do those things. I assume, you haven't watched this drama yet. But the FL actually cares about him too. It is a mutual bond and a strong friendship is even building. Personally I don't care if it is the FL or ML who falls first. It's not supposed to be a power battle. For me, what matters is the leads have great chemistry and they have an incredible emotional connection to each other, that's all that matters for me.

I am not lost at all if you are talking about the terms you have stated. The basics and the core structure is clear. However, it is a thriller drama. It is meant for the audience to be quisitive and ask questions and to wonder what is happening. Information is getting revealed ep by ep like you have said. But the original commenter needs to understand that people like us who have not read the book are discovering the story for the first time. Ofcourse people won't know what something means yet. Emphasis on the yet. Because the drama writer might want to reveal that certain information in the way they have decided to. So basically it's ok if people are confused, haha.
