Every time the FL tried to stay away from him and told him she doesnt want such a relationship he still showed up in front of her and made her think he has genuine feelings for her. If your argument is that she can make her own decisions you should know that it is very difficult for people in toxic relationships to make their own decisions.

ML knew that SML liked the FL and he tried to sabotage it. just because he did not want FL to date another guy he asked FL to date him. If he really was a person who wanted to date multiple people at a time. why did he care so much that one of the girls was not going to be in his control anymore.
Till the last episode he stayed the same. And the final episode they made it seem that he was never a jerk at all.. just a poor boy who fell in love. Honestly the last episode felt like it was taken from some other drama.
