They’re on the edge of breaking up all the time, weirdly, I enjoy it a lot. The skinship is surprisingly good for a Korean BL. It’s just je-daero-da for me. I always thought K-BLs were supposed to be soft, but this one has enough drama, and can confirm it is definitely my top tire Kbl for sure. It’s just they randomly added a whole plot from “ANNA” at the end, though. Haha.
I noticed from the very first trailer that it seemed a bit too spicy for me. I wasn't really in the mood for it—maybe it just felt unnecessarily intense, so I decided not to watch it at the time. Even when the drama aired, I only watched a few short clips here and there, but it didn’t really catch my interest.
After putting it off for a while, I recently felt like watching something, especially after finishing Red, White & Royal Blue (which I also postponed, just like KinnPorsche). That’s when I thought, “Maybe it’s time to finally watch KP,” I needed a fresh start in Thai BL also, since I been out of the loop since the 2gether era.
So let me tell you, KinnPorsche freaking ruined me. It set the bar so high. Now I’m completely attached. I even started looking for the novel to read, and I keep rewatching the series. It feels like I won’t be able to move on anytime soon. And other BLs just don’t feel good enough now. The acting, visuals, and plot were the perfect combo. All the TikTok and YouTube edits are driving me crazy. I seriously can’t stop watching. Somebody help!!!
Just saw the trailer, and honestly, my expectations are getting lower. Feels like the typical cliché separated-lovers-reunited trope. Plus FL’s acting feels stiff—more like a method acting. Still hoping full release can change my mind.
Didn’t think I’d enjoy it this much! The plot twist made it better—without it, things would’ve gone pretty wild. Also, I love how bold the FL is for dating someone 13 years younger. That alone is keeping me watching!
I noticed that many of the same cast members from The Double also appear in Perfect Match. Is there something special about the casting—like the same director or production team? I kinda feels it’s a bit like Bridgerton, where the story focuses on each son or daughter in the family as they reach the age to marry. Once one couple's story wraps up, the focus shifts to the next, and the previous couple gets less screen time. This act isn’t new, but as an Asian drama, I want to see more priority focus on Two leads on every episode.
I know I’m just complaining because I’m a Wang Xing Yue person, haha!
I love stories with an intelligent and beautiful female lead and a charismatic, smart male lead — it’s just so satisfying to watch. Not only are the leads gorgeous and handsome, even the side characters are stunning too. Tbh I feel ashamed for swaying over every man for Xue Feng Fei lol. I couldn’t believe my childhood favorite actress, Joe Chan, playing a villain again, she’s so good at it. Somehow watching it kept reminding me of Love Like the Galaxy, so I recommend that anyone who likes LLTG should definitely watch The Double, and anyone who likes The Double should check out LLTG too!
The only thing worth watching in the entire drama is when the ML and FL appear alone together. The other characters are unnecessarily annoying, boring, or come with cliché, dumb plots. It's either a 6.5 or a 7 for me. I'm staying just for the ML and FL's romance until the end. The romance is good—the kisses and hugs are chef’ kiss. They're so lovely, I love it. I just can’t believe they keep forgiving the SML when he didn’t even apologize lol. The special scene feels a bit random—there wouldn’t be a problem without it anyway.
I'm reading the novel and it feels so moody which I love but it adds so much layers to the characters.
Definitely the proper one. The author goes all out in describing the situation, appearance, and emotions, building up each scene in detail—so even a single scene takes a lot to read. But it’s totally worth it! I keep reacting soundly in every chapter, since the plot twists just never stop coming.
Did I just watch a masterpiece? It was so good! Has Chen Xing Xu always been great at acting? He nails in action, romance, drama and even comedy—is there anything he can't do? I hope he takes on more action roles in the future. Tan Xuan Lin was made for him, and only he can be Tan Xuan Lin. I’m really satisfied with both the smart and witty leads. I can’t wait to see more of Chen Xing Xu’s projects. He really is the one!
P.s I don’t care about that CTO and Doctor couple, they take too much screen time tho
