I am only on episode 4, but both have been present so far, to various degrees.

Then why have him make the claim that he himself would find Pued no matter what if there was nothing for him to do? He could have just not said that, and then I would not have expected him to actually do something, which is why I said it was an issue with the show, not the character. There have been plenty of shows where people who are not tied to law enforcement at all have solved mysteries, so I don't really see the point in making it seem like Bun is going to be doing that and then he just doesn't?

Also, he asked Tan, who is just a tutor as far as he knows, to help him look into it (and that was after days had already passed). So saying that its because he's just an ME doesn't really work.

I feel like the show is really mixing up Bun's priorities. Like, his friend goes missing and after talking to the supposed kidnapper and swearing to find Pued no matter what, he doesn't actually do anything to find him? As far as he knows, his friend's life is in immediate danger, but we get a bunch of scenes of him playing house with Tan instead of doing literally anything at all to find Pued. It's so weird.

I agree that the show would be better overall without those cliche parts, but I feel like a certain amount of cliche is expected by most fans, and that the creators know a certain amount is necessary if they want the best chance of reaching mainstream success.

You don't have to watch Bad Romance before TWM. I had never even heard of Bad Romance when I watched TWM, and I still haven't watched it. The events in TWM actually happen before those that take place in Bad Romance, so you really don't need to know anything about Bad Romance at all to understand what's happening on TWM.

I mean, I would think Tan did it too. He's so shady. Like, I know that he's a tutor or whatever, but he looked like a hitman for all of episode 1 and most of episode 2.
