The amazing resemblance of the lead actor to Ji Chang Wook made up for extreme lack of plot. Also, most of the side characters wrapped up nicely - not a ton of loose ends.
Surprisingly watchable - with many plot tie ups for most of the side characters. However, for about the last half of the episodes, everyone talked around the elephant in the room - Our Lead had already promised to marry someone else yet he didn't understand why Our Heroine cried every time she asked what plans he had for her status. Be prepared for a lot of fast forwarding.
I actually just rewatched this in a marathon session (spring break 2016 holidays) and found it still addictive once again. Too many reminiscing montages, though, and not enough explaining of how he would expect her to stay around once he got married to the wenchiest mafia princess ever.
This was a long slog to get through but parts of it were hysterical. Even though I couldn't find english subs after about ep. 9, I slogged through the rest on YouTube over three days - it was worth it.
This was such a difficult yet enjoyable lakorn to watch. It was hard to watch the hero's crazily angry actions (towards everyone, almost, let's be frank here!) yet see the growth in our heroine's self worth. Just when you thought someone (other than Wee) would be going down the horrible-second-lead path - there would be a redeeming moment or bit of backstory that explained their behavior. And there was humor as well - lines like the "I have temporarily lost my mind today" from Rin's florist shop coworker or scenes where Pat is admiring herself in the reverse of a skillet - almost balance out the sad, sad scenes. I am going to have to write a review, I think! I would never have guessed that I liked this so much. And, FYI, the playlist for it on YouTube has had its soundtrack removed but it still has its subtitles. Wasn't too bad to watch it that way.
While this has a lot of the tropes of lakorns (at least the ones I've watched), this drama really turned them on end. There is family tragedy, enforced togetherness, cold hero/kind heroine, baby secrets, etc. - but each situation turns out in a pretty good way. The hero was more of a brat than a devil. If you like lakorns (ridiculous plots, crazy families), you'll find this a pretty sweet one. I especially loved her servants.
Two episodes in and this has proven to be one of the best procedural and psychological dramas I've seen. Even Uhm Tae Woong is acting less woodenly (although he is always awesome to look at) than usual!
I was lucky to find this movie with english subs...it is a cute movie, but I wasn´t able to connect with the…
I also thought that scenes or dialogues were cut because some of the major plot points weren't there at all. Why was Maertai living at 4th Prince's home? Who exactly was she? How did 14th travel to the future? Also the character info in the cast list should be reversed - Tony Yang is 4th Prince and Dou Shawn is 14th.
Well, I finally found this online - not quite the depth I was expecting but it was still beautiful and, whew, that cast looks great. I want to see them in another film together.
I must say... I'm really addicted to this drama! Really liking all the leads so far. I know I'm going to be crying…
There are actions based on political ambitions - and then, the consequences. Not everyone can be emperor! If it follows the book, it will be very poignant.
Lightweight and funny but I was glad it was short. I'm not sure if I could have stood a full series of Lee Kang Hoon's jealous fits. I understood their point in the series but - sheesh.

Me, too! I read the book it was based on and I'm really enjoying how it's being translated onto the screen. It's not exactly the same but the emotions are spot on.
