Hahah I watched so many C dramas when ML scold, beat FL and then they still fall in love. Those comments saying they rarely see such toxic men in C Dramas must not watch many C dramas. In Flourished Peony, there is husband raping wife and the ML seemed not to care much at first when the wife begged him for help, while when CA knew his friend almost raped KN's adopted sister, he helped her to beat the friend up. I agree that is periodic problem so the men's view is based on the social view at that time. But this ML still helped and saved them when needed, what he did is just some bad arrogant words. The only violence he did to them was kicking a ball but with no actual danger. And the worst thing he did was telling the cousin to teach his wife a lesson at the kipnapping which was impulsive. But he is a human being with good and bad, the importance is when it comes to physical damage especially life danger he always helps to save. In the story of the Du guy, he saved citizens of his town. So why people judged a person just on one side not on the overall? They want a hero or a clean image? I would not forgiven if he hit his wife for sure but clearly it will never happen.
He is not one sided person. As I remember he kicks his cousin only, maybe his bad friend as well, he does not kick anyone else, no kick no hit women although he was slapped in face.
