Check out The Eight Sense. The chemistry and "being invested" are very good there. The whole drama is very different…
Not exactly very romance focused but for the political stuff in the plot that made me go "they were allowed to say that??", the acting (especially Gun and First), and the charater that is Yok (played by First), I really must recommend Not Me. I personally don't like what they did storywise with one side character but that would be huge spoiler so... It's still one of my new favs despite that. The activism is just great, and did I already mention Yok? ;D

I'm glad you liked The Eighth Sense! Gods yes, I hope the people behind TES will make more BLs in the future.
Hmm for a whole package show (plot, acting, vibes etc.) the only one I can think of is I Told Sunset About You. Other than that: Moonlight Chicken (also my fav) - very mature, good acting, especially side teenage couple has a great story. Only Friends - has things in plot I was disappointed with in the end but SandRay chemistry is amazing. And Boston and Nick are not afraid to get touchy too. Overall messy people. Bad Buddy - good plot, great chemistry (super cute wlw side couple), and main couple doesn't lose their snarky friendship after getting together (they feel like a very natural, real like pair). Back in the day I enjoyed and rewatched To my Star (1st season) but that's an "old" one so you had probably seen it. Also: Our Dating Sim (that one was like a breath of fresh air), Blueming, Semantic Error, The Eclipse (the plot could be better but the chemistry and acting!), History 3: Trapped, We Best Love.
I've noticed something while watching Korean BLs, the way the movie is directed and shown to the viewers feels…

I feel like if this was a 60min.x16eps drama with a hetero couple it would be a hit. It's a shame dramas with lgbtq+ mains are not widely accepted yet. The storyline is a ff trope with a twist, and it's so good! It would be fantastic as a romans mixed with crime. More about the psychology of mono/prob people, more about the mother, and the missing people case. I'm really sad the team couldn't do much because of the time limit.
