It isn´t one that blows you away but it doesn´t need to be
This series is a mini-series that despite it not being a big production is definitely worth watching. It´s not one that blows you completely away but it doesn´t have to. The story of the two couples, the two girls and the two guys, is cute and down to earth in a more realistic way. Both couples show hesitations that feel real seeing as each couple respectively has been friends for ten years before they even become a couple. The attraction shown between the couples isn´t this big non-graspable thing but is build by their interactions and small gestures. While i will say the music was very standard and it isn´t one i would revisit. It is a nice short and cute one time experience that I would say is worth it.Was this review helpful to you?
Not your usual zombie movie
but this shouldn’t deter anyone from watching it. It’s true that the focus of this movie is a lot more on the family and their relationships and how the situation affects those than the focus is on the zombies. The tension is felt rather than just seen and it’s a key point of what makes the movie so good. It’s the type of movie that might not seem grandiose but that’s cause it doesn’t need to be. Everything that happens very much shows the different sides of humanity and the cracks that show under such a crisis. I would definitely recommend anyone who wants to, to give it a fair chance. Definitely not for everyone but a fantastic movie
I just finished the handmaiden and to me it was a truly magnificent movie. It can get pretty graphic and leaves little to the imagination. Going into the movie i knew very little about it but I would say that you can go into this movie without knowing too much as long as you´re aware it is 100% for a mature audience.The relationship between the two female leads is shown very well especially given the time period the movie is set in. The twists and turns the story takes throughout its 3 parts (it says which part the movie is at in the movie itself) was everything i could have hoped for. The acting is phenomenal in my opinion, the story very well written and the music ties it together perfectly.
I give this a highscore for everything else but i wouldn´t say it has a lot of re-watch value. It is very much a one of those experiences that is fantastic once but would just not hold the same magic the second time around.
It really isn´t for everyone and if there are certain topics that you are sensitive to I would suggest doing your research on the movie first.
