The thing is that whenever you are miserable you always go to the person you want to talk/see. Most people will dial a friend, a sibling or their parents. He is looking for her specifically. He also remembers the things she said. Most people forget about trivial things such as an app, but if you go to someone directly to ask her for the app, then you are looking for something else without you even realizing.
The fact that he tells his girlfriend that he is not going to fire her in one of the earlier episodes is another red flag. It clearly shows that there mutual feelings. Sure, you can say that his girlfriend works at the head office, but why would she care who you are going to hire. Or the fact that he is not honest with his girlfriend about him getting drunk with KYJ. If JCW did not want her to be close to him, he could have fired her or ignored her. But he does not...

That is the thing. I do think that he intentionally visiting her for a therapy session. In episode 3, she is talking about coming up with a new menu and that they had more than 200 customers today, but he straight up ignores it. He is only asking her to install an app and ask her why she is not able to work tomorrow. In other words, he is not checking up on the store, but on her.

To be fair, they are never working together. He is working during the day and she is having the night shift. Their interactions are minimal. It is more that he goes to her, whenever he is sad and drunk due to his fucked up relationship with his girlfriend. She never approaches him or stalks him in private.
It is true that different social and academic status are not always a big deal, but in Korea it certainly is. Also, they hang out in different circles and she does not want to bring him into her circle. A relationship does not work whenever one partner treats the other as a second-tier citizen.
(Although not a valid excuse, but thanks to KYJ the girlfriend might actually learn to see JCW in another light.)
all i have left to say anymore is that JCW gotta fire whoever picking his last scripts expeditiously
The ratings are creeping up. Nationwide ratings are much higher than last week Friday. The first episode of today is also much higher than last weeks Saturday's first episode. The second episode of today and last week Saturday is stable. Since Friday's are always lower than Saturday's, this is actually very positive.

I absolutely agree with you, but what I am trying to say is that what she showcases is mainly human nature. If you like someone very much, you will tend to boast about you own accomplishments. In the first two episodes, there was a strong feeling that she was trying to wreck the relationship, but now there is more of a natural progression where they grow closer to each other.
If I look at my own situation, I never share my personal life stories with people I do not like, but I do share it with people that I like. My intention is not necessarily to have them break up with their significant other, but rather that they like me back as a person.
I think the first two episodes really set the wrong pace, because the director programmed us into thinking that she is out there to steal the guy. But now it is very mellow. JCW will not break up with his girlfriend because of KYJ, but because his girlfriend and him are not a great match in terms of education, background and status.

Absolutely agree on the first point, but let's be honest... She is not preventing him to see her nor luring him into having sex with her. She is mainly very protective and nice/ open to him. Sharing that she has a new record of customers and other sort of happiness is not flirting, but rather cute. It reminds me of a little kid that comes to you and tells you he/she became first at school or learnt a new song. That is not flirting...
His girlfriend on the other hand is almost a closed book. He does not know anything about her whilst they are together for two years (such as that her boss is a youth friend). Their relationship is bound to break up.
The first two episodes were just not rightly paced. The third episode is much more subtle and "normal". It looks indeed more like the family drama that the director was talking about

It is difficult to say whether JCW should fire the person that picks his scripts. The viewership ratings will tell whether his choice is right. One of the best Korean films ever is My Sassy Girl and that movie had a whole bunch of cues that are similar to this series. One of the go to sentences of Jun Ji Hyun in My Sassy Girl was to ask her boyfriend "Whether he wanted to die". Also she abused the shit out of him (including hitting and asking him to walk in her heels), but that story rocket launched Jun Ji Hyun in absolute stardom.
For now I only watched the first episode and a part of episode 2 and I just can't get into the main characters…
Yes, I agree with you on the first two episodes. But in episode 3, they are toning down the possessiveness of Saet Byul. In fact, their relationship is kinda cute. He is an absolute pushover and let's people take advantage of him (stealing in his store etc.), but she does not allow people to take advantage of him

BTW this recap is doing a very bad job at reviewing. You will learn that JCW might be in a relationship with his girlfriend, but that his girlfriend is ashamed for him and does not invite him to see her parents. Whilst she does invite her boss to see her parents. I do not know... They even said something that rich people date around, but marry people in their own circle. To me, they are building to a story that is much deeper... Watching a drama without subtitles or no fluency in the language is not ideal

Watch it on IQiyi. You can watch it legally and free (no subscription required). It is also simulcast, so the episodes are directly posted after broadcast.

Signal is Astory, HDL is Gt:st, Prison Playbook is CJ ENM, Goblin is Hwa&Dam, CLOY is Culture Depot. I believe Culture Depot (Park Ji Eun) and Hwa&Dam (Kim Eung Soo) are subsidiaries of Studio Dragon and the others are not. Astory is very good though. Almost all their works are good. But this one is by Story TV and they have produced some real duds: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Story_TV. These shows are not even average, but straight up shit
that's usually what happens when a plot progresses lol
Not necessarily, remember TKEM? The reason I am saying this is because in the first week, people said that it only had easy humor. But after watching episode 3, I see some attempt to actually create a more layered story. It is going somewhere

They do not care about how many episodes there are filmed. I am pretty sure that with all the cut scenes of Park Hae Jin in Cheese In The Trap you can film a new show. I must admit that CITT is not the best example, because there the writer did the opposite, went rogue and did not listen to the audience feedback.
This show actually looks well put together, but I felt the same about "Encounter". Cinematographically, I thought the first two or three episodes of Encounter were one of the best I have ever seen. Very beautifully and stylishly directed. But after three episodes, i dropped the show quicker than a hot potato. The director of Encounter and Psycho is the same. He also directed Hyde, Jekyll and Me... Those shows became boring very quickly.

Yes, but CLOY and HDL had momentum, so the writers could stick to their vision. Even so, with CLOY they made some revisions with the ending to please the right wing in Korea. Initially I read that HB and SYJ would have a twin, but they got rid of that. But with shows that have no consistent viewership, none of them improved after an intervention.
I know people can do whatever they want but why is there 4 reviews already? It’s bugging me. Three 10 stars…
If there is one thing TVN cannot do, is creating a story that is interesting for the full 16 episodes. Reviewing the show a "10" is very premature. Hi Bye Mama also started very interesting, but after 4 or 5 episodes got stuck in a loop. Since Psycho's tv ratings are one of the lowest for a Saturday-Sunday drama, I would not be surprised that the writers will adapt the story further to pull viewers back. Story TV and Studio Dragon are one of the worst in the live revision-department. This can be a "10", but also a "4" after 8 episodes.
People are sleeping hard on this drama. Every scene - I mean every scene - is a plot twist. It is also fast paced. There were many times I thought the writer would be opening a can of k-tropes to create a filler story, but all the issues are solved within 10 minutes in the next episode. It is actually fascinating. Most dramas are criticized, because relationships/characters are not well fleshed out, but here people's complaints are the opposite. We know almost all the characters really well, which unfortunately gives us less of the bromance that everyone wants so badly... It is hilarious that the major criticism is that all the characters are too 3D.
I'm surprised no one commented hate under the screenwriters profile yet. looking at her other work, all drama's…
Because MDL is not necessarily the taste of Korea? But it is true though that the writer's reputation is quite lacklustre. Her drama "What is Mom" was shortened from 120 to 27 episodes... Cutting almost 100 episodes from a drama is quite an achievement
I can see why the writer won the kdrama writing contest, because she is seriously talented... Would not be surprised if she will become one of the bigger kdrama writers in ten years. This show is not only funny, but filled with life-lessons
Apparently people/activists are owning up, that single message of Wonderbread stating out all the flaws of the…
Nah, my memorization power is okay. I was checking out all the movies/dramas that Wonderbread listed and most of them had a lower rating now. Then I stumbled upon the movie I Can Speak and saw that that rating also declined, but that movie is from a few years ago and not really active anymore. It can be the power of dialogue or just some sabotaging. But then again, big dramas such as Goblin and Itaewon Class also fell in rating, you cannot sabotage those unless you have at least 100+ accounts.
