On Why Women Love Feb 12, 2022
I wasn't anticipating enjoying this as much as I am. I agree with the others, I should have waited to binge-watch it. 2.5 days and counting..,sigh.

Yeah this is unusual but tencent is getting worse . I just sent them feedback and asked why I have a drama available…
Tencent has lost so much money, CCP has went after them hard core with regulations, they've had to downsized dramatically, nothing has officially been said but it does seem like subbing been left undone, I just wonder if its for the sake of not paying people to do it.

Wow China really going out with promoting winter sports and especially ice skating to their netizens
XI has made it the focus of the CCP to push nationalism through winter sports, for this Olympics and beyond.
There is a much larger political agenda behind the scenes. Winter-sports films and dramas are much like science, military, police, and medical productions, which are all part of motivating the public on board with breaking barriers and excelling for the glory of China aka "Party".

What a waste of time. Portraits Korean women as only finding their worth in marrying a well-off man and being…
This is a weekend drama, much like novelas, they are intentionally full of over-the-top and extreme behaviors and plot lines.
The older generation in Korea can have preset ideas about how the younger generation should live their lives, it can be outright controlling and abusive. It confronts this along with some of the cultural taboo topics or social issues still within Korea today, only here they have ramped up a lot of the reality to a place of madness.
Keep in mind, the average viewer in Korea for dramas like this one will be senior citizen women. It's not geared toward 20-40 -some things in mind.

I can imagine, plus, it wasn't just a recreational drug it was a neurotoxin poison! She did it for years! No way…
Yeah, I was just thinking maybe that is why they said Oliver pardoned her. IDK how he would have that power, but the punishment of her committing such a crime would be someone's worst nightmare. Unless someone could bribe a few people at the top of the CCP and turn a blind eye.

yes!! Elise shouldve went to prison and junbin, revoke his license
Yeah, they did. There were plenty of inconsistencies, holes and illogical reasonings. It was unrealistic on many fronts.

Elise went to jail for a time, Oliver asked for her to be pardoned so her time was short. She had to leave the country, being deported was her punishment.
Jubin definitely got off easy.

yes.
There are many beautiful images of food, I was hungry watching it many times. There are some moments when the ML teaches about food history or culture but only briefly. It would have been nice if more was included.

Title Cupid's Kitchen Spoiler
yes.
The writing was frustrating. The couple was worth watching for me, but the rest was filled with crazy vengeful people who got light justice in the end. I guess it all depends on what level of reality you need in a story. It is not very realistic.

Doesn't china have the death sentence for drug trafficking? They don't have much tolerance for drugs, I am sure any related crimes would have harsh punishments attached.
It's strict here in Korea if someone is caught but not nearly as bad as in China.

The drama airs first on KACOWA. They also sub it first. It is free the first 24 hours. Viki can't sub a drama…
Sorry you are incorrect... The thread I shared was answered by VIKI corporate, they themselves state they don't depend on KOCOWA subs but fansubbers.
As I have stated, I watch both versions back to back at times. I worked with VIKI's Singapore staff before and after as they developed a relationship with KACOWA. I am well aware of what I am talking about first hand.
That KOCOWA does their own professional subs, Viki uses volunteers, most of the time. One of the key reasons for this, Viki subs are usually made into English first and then translated into other languages from there. KOCOWA's subs are licensed, it is not possible to translate other languages legally. Any drama which has multiple language subs on Viki, will not have Kocowas subs. This is to prevent excluding a large part of Viki's audience.

Anyway, Believe whatever you want. It's useless to argue.

I often watch a drama twice back to back. Once on Kocowa, secondly on Viki. There are two different sets of subs on more occasions than not.
They do share subs occasoinally, I would find 90% of the time hyper-inflated number.
