for anyone passing by, if you want some variety show suggestions which are well produced and where cast have great chemistry (evident by fact that all these shows had sequel seasons):

A. upbeat, comedy, but also pockets of heartwarming moments (that are to do w/ travel):
1. Wow the World
2. Wander Together
3. Keep Running

(just for your reference, in contrast to the first three, a variety show that i would consider is upbeat but has no/limited heartwarming themes would be Hello Saturday, also known as Hi! 6. ofc its compleatly diff format than travel shows, just wanted to share incase you're looking for a fully "mood-making" show)

B. medium pace, balanced mix of upbeat x healing, leans more to healing side than the ^ prev three:
4. The Inn 2026

C. just another good variety show recc, not travel related:
5. The Truth s3 (mystery / case breaking / comedy)

i didnt get what u meant by the messy editing before I watched --- after watching, now i get u hahaha. agreed. the editing of the ep doesn't flow well / allow the audience to picture in thier head a timeline of what's going on.

also, having the teams divided up 3v3 means the cast really isn't getting that much time interacting tgt all as a whole, which is difficult bc this speaks to the foundational concept of the show.

casting is also so-so, you might even say - un fitting. because too many introverts. now hear me out, there's no problem w having "i" personality for variety show. but it would make more sense if the show was a healing/slow pace. if you want the pace of the show to be adventurous and upbeat (like Random Tour does want to be), then you need a more balanced ratio of "extroverted mood-makers" to "reserved-introverts".

good points though would be: got to see more of NaZa Yang Di and Chen ZheYuan personality that I prev didn't get to see. the other members, i've seen them in other things before and personality remained consistent w what I already imagined. so not necessarily a bad thing, its just perhaps that the Yang Di team of three (so, NZ, YD, CZY) had more memorable chemistry for me so this stood out as prob the main thing keeping me watching.

The ML in this alternative drama is acc Zhang Chi, one of my fav short drama actors. Yet, I liked this ver better. Put it on 2x haha. Good chemistry, FL more emotive and lively.

Both ver are cute though so yeah! Enjoy hehe

Also, FL Guo Xin Rui is so cute! She just debuted in 2025 and I'm a follower / fan already!

Great review, thank you! So agree RE Zhang Chi! I consider him a rather 'serious' actor amongst verticle drama actors (no disrespect to the others, just my view on the difference in the calibre of their work), and have so much hope for him. Am making an effort to watch all his works and you're right, his range is amazing! Seems like he really spends time understanding his character and acts so naturally and with such palpable emotion. For sure will remain in my top3 verticle drama actors out there and I can't imagine that changing! :))

- well paced
- lighthearted and funny
- strong ML and FL
- good chem and good looking leads
- relatively new storyline (for myself atleast bc I haven't watched many "I can hear your inner thoughts" tropes before haha)
- satisfying ending

How i wish KR was a regular weekly show (like they have new ep every week) -- but in reality I know that actually the fact that its just 12ep per year makes it more exiting and interesting bc the members really miss each other and cant wait to see each other once they start filming again ... and if they did it every week would run out of concepts and get boring hahaha

I feel like alot of people think that Meng Zi Yi doesn't fit KR bc she isn't as overtly energetic as other members, I can see where you guys are coming from but for me personally, I think in some ways for me it adds a nice balance!

The team has many running/long standing jokes with her that they bring up alot and I see the members get along w/ her very well. She brings a different kind of humour to the team. She may not be athletic but I see her trying hard -- but more than this, I remember in an interview other members have said before that -- "although they aren't athletic, KR gave him them encouragement and energy to find different ways to bring fun to the screenand they feel that is what KR is about" -- its about fun, warmth, family, sportsmanship, good vibes, and motivation for life!

I hope MZY doesn't feel too discouraged by this and keeps trying to break into the role in her own way! You're doing great baobei!

You don't know what you miss until one member is gone -- every person adds a little something to the KR family dynamic and thats what makes KR so special!

Enjoying s13 so much already. Esp most recent Ep6 abt Short Dramas -- I've watched almost every KR szn and that was prob the most funny Ep I've ever seen. FCC is hilarious frrr. Not just slapstick but witty too!

Editing and entire crew is also doing amazing, the new graphic popart editing of this szn is fresh and fun to watch! Thank you to the entire team hehe. 加油大家，幸苦你了！ 💗💗💗💗💗
