When you said "she loved her brother for a while and then suddenly loved otaro" I thought you mean her love is superficial and NOT real and her love is incomprehensible to you. BTW, you said "she confessed to her brother and then like an episode later she was in love with otaro" but I can't remember such a thing. I think she begins fell for him after the end of episode 3 (when he saved her from kazuma after two twice back in time) and she loved him after that in episode 4. I can't even say "this is just my personal opinion that I think mikoto loves otaro ." Or something like that. Because I never thought she don't love him. Yes you're right, she loved her brother before that but he didn't answer to her feelings and then she suddenly fell for otaro. (If I'm not wrong, it written for her character in the Japanese Wikipedia too.) Where is it weird? Why she can't be love him? Love doesn't need any reason. I have a bad feeling for the 2nd female role. She was innocent but otaro used her and played with her feelings. He tried to marry her just because of her money.
