Prime example of "gay romance" made by someone who isn't gay, for people who aren't gay.Dude is in a girl's body,…
I completely understand where you are coming from. But I don't really have that much of an issue with the story because to me it's kinda like a gay man being in love with a trans man who hasn't transitioned yet. Yes he is in a female body but he's still a guy. But that's just my perspective and like I said I complete understand if other people have an issue with this kind of setup.
I've never seen any adaption of this series and after I saw the trailer I honestly thought it was pretty silly and that I'm too old for this kind of story BUT I actually LOVED it. I guess these kinds of tropey shoujos still work on me😂 And I'm proud to say that I never trusted Hana even for a second.
Omg I was crying through the whole episode😠and I still can't stopðŸ˜ðŸ˜ I don't even know what to say, I'm just so heartbroken right now... The ending feels so unfair but I don't know if I would have preferred it if shifu actually died.. And don't even get me started on how I was full on SOBBING when tilan and dixu died😠This really reminded me why I don't watch dramas with sad endings, I'm way too emotional for this bullshit.
Tilan dressing up as the emperors wife didn't make any sense at all. That was just plain stupid. Why would she even do that, when the emperor clearly started being nicer to her? He even told her she doesn't have to be like her sister. I don't know if it will be explained later on but at the moment, that plan was very out off character because she was pretty good at handling him. I really hope I'm not the only one who doesn't like the direction in which the drama is heading because I would have preferred a different outcome. Well here are my two cents anyway.
They and especially the emperor had a lot of developement: he was gradually opening up and started accepting her. There was more than one instance where he just ended up paying her a visit without meaning to. He also clearly felt touched when tilan stayed with him the whole night after he fell into the water. He went from being indifferent to actually worrying for her when he heard that she got hurt. And from being stone cold to showing his vulnerability by admiting that he feels lonely while eating alone. He started going out of his way to do something nice for her (the lanterns) and even started joking around (drawing on her face) And all of that was a huuuge step considering how much he hated her and grieved for his wife. It really started to look like she could be the one to tell him what he needs to hear because who else would dare to therapize the emperor. So they could have made a very interesting second couple. But from the synopsis we know that he will fall in love with haishi? And the only reason is her being a woman? Then why even give him that kind of character developement with tilan as the trigger, if they will just ruin it all with the scene in episode 20 and make him fall in love with haishi anyway? Doesn't make any sense to me.
Oh god what did they do to Ashina Sun... I can't watch this drama without rolling my eyes and hating every scene of him and changge. They took every thing that was interesting about his character and the dynamic of their relationship and replaced it with generic tropes. Ugh.. It's such a shame. I want to drop it but I was looking forward to this drama for so long... I really want it to be good.
I just can't bring myself to watch this. After the last episodes of 2gether their relationship seems so awkward and forced to me that I cringe every time sarawat and tine are on screen together. It's such a shame because I really loved the first 9 episodes ;(
I don't know why but I find Ashes of Love so boring... I didn't care for any of the characters except mu ci and the princess (forgot her name). The only scene I really liked was the one where the main character (also forgot his name) died.. It was so epic but still kinda funny. I really wanted to like it but it was just too draggy and as soon as you think the main couple would get together for good something happens to ruin everything. Which would be okay if the "happy times" lasted a little longer. It just feels like suffering without a reward at the end.
WHO DOES GRAM LIKE??
