On Takeuchi Ryoma Dec 4, 2020
I've seen most of his dramas and movies. Good actor, he's great in comedy, romance, and action. He chooses really well!

Thanks for informing. With new dramas coming up and their personal life of course, it can be hard getting back to an old drama.

Everybody has their own preferences. Yeah, I can see the glaring difference when it comes to cinematography. But one thing that really annoys me is that when people think romance equals skinship. Umm, nope. You can make a romantic drama without skinship. I want to see people fall in love; I just don't really want them to see them kissing or having sex lol sorry.

But yes, I do agree that the Japanese don't make much romance focused dramas for some reason. I mean is it because they think that the audience today would prefer to see more skinship? Because I don't think that's true. I'm sure some people prefer subtlety when it comes to romance. And a few dramas that came out last year were quite risky (I haven't watched them but from the summaries they seem like it lol).

Anyways, I'm pretty sure Korean and Japanese are both conservative, it's just that Kdramas are trying to appeal to Western audiences now. And even though Japanese dramas are "conservative", they do tackle more issues than Kdramas.

But honestly, the biggest reason why most people prefer Kdramas is that both actors and actresses are better looking and the cinematography.

I've seen my share of good romance dramas, Japanese and Korean.

Does anyone know if the subber will continue subbing it since DIMSUM has it?

Can somebody give a full review on this drama? Been holding on to this drama for quite a while and I've heard…
I guess it could be perceived as bland, but it's just a normal day-to-day story of running a restaurant. But I find it funny and amusing. It honestly depends on your taste. But then again, everything I have watched of Satomi and Sota, I enjoyed a lot. Both of them are nice to watch on screen. I would suggest watching at least two to three episodes of any drama before deciding (but I know that most of us don't have time to waste).

As for the actors, they are well cast. Especially Satomi, Fukushi, and Shison; they're perfectly cast.

I can't seem to get the point behind this show, maybe because I haven't read the manga. But I can't find anything…
In this drama, his character was supposed to be stoic. From what I remember from the manga, he does start to become less stoic. Him, Satomi, and Shison are so perfectly cast! But yeah to each his own :)
On Fukushi Sota Jul 23, 2020
Person Fukushi Sota
Is he the greatest actor? No.
Will he ever become one? How would I know? I'm not psychic.
But he is now decent-ish; better in some roles than others. Besides his good looking face he does have a certain charm on screen so to say. And his acting no matter how bad it is, there's a certain sincerity to it.

If you have been watching him from his earlier works, there is no denying that he has improved. So the constant "he can't act at all" comments are redundant and annoying. Look at his acting through your eyes, not someone else's (this is for anyone not just him).

But I do wish that he would improve his "eye acting/expressions" and expressions when it comes to emotional outbursts.

"Hypocrisy or not, people can own up to it and admit they were wrong in the past. "The past? Meaning three months…
It's not about stopping people; I would never do that. It's about wondering where these woke people were just this year? That's all. I'm sorry, but not everyone here raising issues is here because they've learned something.

As for going to the comment section of IC and calling them out now, it would just seem a bit petty and revenge-ish IMO.

Can people stop trying to muzzle the thoughts of people? People have the right to express positive and negative…
"Hypocrisy or not, people can own up to it and admit they were wrong in the past. "

The past? Meaning three months ago? I haven't watched IC, but from the comments below it had some problematic issues, but I didn't see the uproar then. And no, two wrongs don't make a right, but you have to see the unfair amount of hate this drama is getting.

Why are so many people upset with this drama in the comment section? After reading the synopsis, which seemed…
Ji Chang Wook's expressions are everything.

Before I continue, I want to mention that there is technically no pedophilia involved (they were adults). Anyways,…
Thank you for this. I'm enjoying watching this drama, but that doesn't mean I'm ignoring or that I can't see the problems. I can see them, I'm just refraining to pass judgement until the drama ends.

I'm just mad that people are acting like this is the only drama that has issues.
But then I see people who are like, "we've grown up, we're starting to see the issues" Since when? Three months ago when IC aired?

"I do think that part of the reason why this show is so heavily criticized is because it messed with the ethnicity that dealt with the most racism historically." Very well said. It is unfortunate that one race has gone through and still continues to face such difficulty even today.

People are complaining not because of her real life age but her character's age (who was still in high school…
That's weird. Thank you for explaining that. But it was just a peck by un immature girl, not the beginning of a relationship so I don't understand the issue. As for him rattling off his number, he was clearly flustered and in shock; but then he did tell her not to save it.
Replying to San Jun 20, 2020
If they really wanted to include that kiss they should have made the grown-ass man show some kind of discomfort.…
He was surprised and that's why he rambled his number. But after he got back to his senses, he did ask her what she was doing with his number and told her not to save it. Surely, pushing isn't the only way to show discomfort.

Even though she was in high school, she was 19. Isn't that the legal age in Korea?
On Backstreet Rookie Jun 20, 2020
To those who found the kiss scene problematic whether because of her age (she's 19 btw) or because it was sexual harassment, good. Her character at that age isn't some you're supposed to look up to, hence we were not supposed to approve or like her actions.

The sexualization of the karaoke scene, did I like it? No. But as an avid KPop fan I have seen worse. That doesn't however make this okay, but to call this out if you're watching those videos.... And yes, some idols are minors. But even if they aren't they are catering to minors. So please, call out both.

As for his friend, yeah that's a problem.

Agree. I'm excited because this takes place in a convenience store, that's a place where everyone in the locality comes to regardless of their profession or background.
