Title The Maid
Very pleasantly surprised by this drama! Acting has been good and costumes are beautiful. FL and ML make mature decisions and nothing seems foolish. This is actually the first drama where each revenge on an enemy is thoughtfully carried out, not rushed, and SO SATISFYING. FL doesn’t even have to actually carry out any of the killings. She masterfully uses others to do the dirty work for her! This drama definitely deserves a higher rating. I’m SHOCKED it has only a mere 7.7.

Am quite surprised by the low rating given for this drama. I enjoyed the realistic approach of this story. This…
I thought the relationship progressed really quickly between HYM and ZGD too from right after he picked her up at the airport, but actually there was a scene that was cut from the drama. They actually filmed a scene where the two were in a taxi after ZGD picked HYM up from the airport. They shared a kiss and ZGD asked HYM where she wanted to go (taxi guy was asking for a destination) and she asked him in return where he lives. So really … I don’t think ZGD took advantage of her. The feelings were mutual. As HYM said in the drama “a woman can take advantage of a man too!”

Can we just take a moment to appreciate Sun Jae's GREEN FLAGNESS. I'm obsessed with his character. A good lover, son, friend, and even celebrity to his fans. What more can you ask for!? I need to find me a real life Sun Jae, BRB.

Really wanted to like this one, but it has such a weak plot. It’s an easy watch, but some of the characters really need to grow up. I mean why so shy about a mere kiss after three years of dating?! 😳 FL is 29 years old!! I get respecting your parents/mother, but that’s very very odd. Then comes second male lead who acts like a child. “I’m busy dating, so I’m going to continue living on my own and playing video games.” I usually get really bored with business talks in dramas and this one I’m just even having trouble understanding any of the business stuff. Spending Valentine’s Day with your parents doesn’t sound like a good marketing strategy. At all. It’s CRINGE.

I've had so many recent dramas where I would start off watching actively, become invested, then drop because the story just gets ridiculous BUT this one is a huge exception. I watched every scene without skipping anything.

I appreciate how much time and thought the production spent on this drama. It really sets a different tone for all other cdramas. I didn't think I would enjoy this one as much because it was so hyped, but it's SO worth the hype. The visuals were stunning (not just of the actors/actresses but the scenery and clothing -- although I did not like Shen Li's overdrawn lips). I'm also in love with every instrumental used in this drama. The comedic moments were perfectly timed and were actually funny and not cringe. SL and XZ's dialogues to each other were loving and never seemed forced. I never thought a line so simple like "let's go eat" can be that touching.

I absolutely love how they balanced out SL and XZ's respective powers. The drama is obviously called Legend of Shen Li for a reason and that's to tell HER story. She's the main character, but she's actually not the strongest in the drama. Yet they found a good balance and they let her shine in moments where other dramas may stick the male lead in there to save the damsel in distress. She had what it takes on her own and XZ really never intervened. He let her do her thing although he could've easily helped her out in so many instances especially being the more powerful one. He does timely come into play as well though and viewers can see his side of the story and his character shine through just as much. What a great balance!

I am going to have so many withdrawals from this drama. I find it funny how people are comparing this to the "supposed greatest cdramas of all time" and saying how much it lives up to them, but really this one stands out more than the rest. It's a class of its own. If it came out years before any other drama, this one will be noted by all as the greatest of all time (in my opinion).

HOW CAN A DRAMA SPEAK SO MUCH NOSTALGIA?!??

I’ve been waiting for this magnificent reunion between ZLY and LGX. I don’t even care about the story, as long as I can see these two paired up again. They look so good after all these years since Princess Agents. ZLY nails these roles beautifully. She’s tiny, but so fierce! Can’t wait for more episodes tomorrow. Can they drop more than 2 episodes a day?!? 😩😩🥺😫

I enjoyed the first two episodes, but also left with a lot of questions. Love the random sprinkled in comedy, but I am a little confused about the overall mix of unstable emotions sensed in these first two episodes. How in the world did this marriage end up failing so miserably!? I think they are going to share more of their dating scenes throughout the remaining episodes of the drama, but I have a hard time believing that there were once a lovey dovey relationship. Hae in’s personality right now doesn’t seem like she would’ve ever acted that way prior to their marriage. Then that just begs the question, what did Hyun Woo like about Hae In when there was barely any courtship?! He decided he would randomly one day tell his coworker that he’s interested in her and he’s ok with her not working and being a housewife? Then marriage right after? These flashback scenes don’t make any emotional sense. Also how did Hae In end up just letting Hyun Woo suffer through all this abuse from her family and not say anything about it? And I mean he’s gotta really hate his wife if his first thoughts after finding out that she’s got 3 months to live is he’s actually happy about it. There’s zero humanity in all of this, but slowly he’s going to start realizing he loves her actually? That’s a whole jumbled mess of emotions going on there and I hope these remaining episodes will do all this justice. It’s hard building a drama out of the current plot because usually dramas end where this drama actually began.

Really appreciate the greater life lesson that this drama conveyed. Yes, the whole dream thing makes you wonder if it is even worth watching, but then again the drama has been giving hints of what viewers were walking into with glimpses of the present very early on. I was a bit disappointed at the ending because it felt a little rushed and I wanted to see more interaction between HQ and ZXW, but the direction of the drama stuck to its intended focus. That is, this drama was never about HQ’s romance to begin with. It’s about self redemption and acceptance. The drama ended right where it needed to before it turned into anything else. Scent of Time will always have a special place in my heart. :)

i felt the same way! girl is literally grieving her brother's death, and the dude thought it was the greatest…
Yes! When he’s apparently the all powerful lord, but he didn’t do anything for her? He sent his “undercover” body guards, but that never amounted to anything (which is kind of crazy because HRZ was able to find her yet those trained bodyguards weren’t?).

I mean is it also that hard to write a divorce letter? The dude did it out of his own greed and he makes it look like he’s gifting her something that required a lot of effort. Also, what gives him the power/say to divorce someone in the Master’s place?!? He’s not even a king. He’s just a merchant!!

On that same note, why in the world did his mother take in those two ladies for years all just because she wants them to marry her son? Why not just take them as concubines already? Instead the mother takes them away from their families and forces them to live in the same household as the lord? That’s very very odd.

ZXW’s character isn’t well written at all. His one purpose in the whole drama is being a love sick bird and he’s not even doing a good job at it. There’s been two assassinations and he just stands there like :O each time HQ could potentially get hurt. He stands behind his guards and doesn’t even go save her. He doesn’t even see her first thing when she went back to her parents’ house after being rescued by someone else. Doesn’t give any kind of condolences when he finally sees her, but decides to reveal his feelings instead? Uhhh it doesn’t even seem like the right time nor place. Major turn off. Makes me think he only cares about his feelings while everyone else’s (including HQ) don’t matter at all.

I’m enjoying the story so far! I watched all 9 episodes today. Have to say, the story is a little confusing between what happened to FL and SFL. Maybe it’s bad subs on kiss.sh? But I’m not really interested in that whole background story. I skip around to the romance and love quadangle. What I do appreciate is the way they’re telling some of the background story with FL sometimes daydreaming of what can possibly happen and it plays out like it’s real and I’m like “:O!” and the short bonus footages have provided insight to the storyline. I can see why those snippets didn’t fit in any scenes and are better revealed at the end of each episode. Right now, I’m not really rooting for any ML in general — I think FL just deserves to be happy and save herself in this lifetime.

feel like Kim Wook is the hidden final villian. i think that he is trying to break the harmony of Jang's family.…
I agree! When LTR first appeared on-screen I really thought he was going to continue to be a more significant character, but he hasn’t amounted to much since the first episode aside from scenes with ML’s mom.

Since we are talking about potential villains, I also think we should consider ML’s father. He’s been odd from the get-go especially since he wasn’t affected by the family curse. He’s also indifferent to his wife and son.

He was also the one who randomly decided to tell SFL of ML’s condition. Perhaps he already knew that ML was having feelings for FL and he wanted to separate them? And he was also the one who set a wedding date for ML and SFL out of the blue. Even ML expressed concerns of being the last to know about his own wedding.

Something just seems off about ML’s dad…

I’m actually really enjoying this drama and the direction it’s heading towards in the latest episodes. I felt the first two episodes were rather flat and not really exciting. I continued to watch this in hopes that it will pick up from there and it’s been delightful to watch Rowoon’s character develop from virtually emotionless to finally showing some personality!

I know a lot of you have an issue with the whole “love spell” thing and how that could possibly make it seem like Rowoon isn’t truly in love with JBA. I usually don’t like these kind of plots either because it seems forced, but in this case it works for me since it’s been foreshadowed that the two are destined to meet this lifetime. It doesn’t matter the process because they’re literally DESTINED to fall in love (hence the title “Destined With You”). Which literally means IDC how he fell in love with JBA, heck! He could’ve even fell in love with her in his mother’s womb without ever laying eyes on her in person. The whole point is…they will fall in love one way or the other regardless of a spell.

I’m looking forward to this week’s new episodes to see what it’s going to bring!

Why does everyone whisper and speak sooo slowly in this drama? I know they’re trying to set a serious tone, but does every single person has to speak like that?! This is especially true for SGQ to the point where it’s trying too hard.
On The Legend of Anle Jul 24, 2023
This drama started out with some potential, but last few episodes are going NOWHERE. There’s no real conflict going on. An Le is supposed to be doing big things and plot against all those who did her dirty, but I don’t really see it happening. She just keeps trying to save people. Where’s the revenge drama in this?

I can see why Han Ye is attracted to An Le’s personality, but I fail to see how An Le can be attracted to such a soft spoken and introverted character? He’s pretty to look at, but I don’t buy it that in real life a girl with a personality like hers would fall for him. I also can’t really grasp her attitude towards him now — one second it’s serious talk and then the next it’s flirtatious? It doesn’t really flow well.

I’ve also noticed another highly annoying fatal flaw with the drama….what is UP with the obsession over saying “An Le” every other second?!? There’s always soooo much talk about An Le in the third person sense of things. “You are the one and only An Le”/“Now you sound like the vengeful An Le”/“You’re the pirate An Le” — it’s almost like their lines are made up to talk about An Le every other second just to prove how legendary she really is. It’s almost as annoying as ZXJ saying “Si Feng” every other second in Love & Redemption.

Then there’s this 30k soldier talk in every single episode. It’s driving me crazy!! I’m only still watching to figure out how the drama is going to end while skipping parts.

I don’t understand why the rating is 8.2! What a shame. I literally just created an account to comment on this thread because this drama deserves more than that. I binged watched yesterday and I went into it not thinking much of it, but it’s exceeded my expectations! The leads have great chemistry and the story is engaging with not a lot of added fluff. There’s also a bit of comedic relief sprinkled in. I’m sold on this show for now and wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up being one of the best shows from 2023 on my list.
