Before a chinese drama airs, it has to pass the NRTA censorship review, so any scenes that need to be cut should be deleted, any revisions shall be sent back to nrta for final approval. Once passed, they will be given the distribution license, online or TV. So basically any scenes that didnt pass the standards set by nrta are already deleted prior airing.
I think its simply a marketing strategy, they intentionally leaked the remaining episodes. Days passed already after it was uploaded but no one noticed it until someone discovered and suddenly trended on weibo.
cnetz were commenting that jade no longer need an audience since all data has been programmed calling it a prefabricated hit drama. they been accusing the platform/capital that it favors jade as the promotion treatment was something other bigIPs never experienced, tencent gave away 100,000 membership which somehow made cloud packages makes no sense and will help drive the heat index, Platform popularity heat index skyrocketed 3k+ only within 6mins which is quite unusual as they claimed there are single update schedules as the drama will run for 24 days, this would extend the show's popular run and help increase average viewership per episode. so its a day of reflection as they say in the chinese entertainment industry yesterday 😂

Short dramas appeals to those with short attention spans, to others who prefer dramas that give them instant gratification, something they could watch when they are just bored rather than dramas with complex character development which will make the audience analyze and think. Just dont like that most of these dramas only focuses on repetitive storyline with tons of steamy scenes. I understand that its booming nowadays so platforms started doing this kind of dramas for revenues and not for the sake of art anymore, well i just find it quite disappointing 💔
Its a personal preference, others may like it but some may not. Not my cup of tea.
watched the leaked vid from the tencent conference and hmmm "Its been three years, it still taste the same".. i dont know but why do i feel like lines are too shallow? Like it lacks conviction? Hope lines are better when it airs coz it really feels like a short drama 😶 with commonly recycled drama storyline, the lovers to enemies to lovers arc. They look good together onscreen so I hope theres still something new to offer with this kind of familiar storyline. thank god zlh is so freakin handsome lol will still give it a try when it airs. anyways he still has chasing jade to look forward to 🙏

as far as i remember, it was never mentioned in the novel but on nie xiguang's weibo account, her birthday is Jan 1, 1998 she's a capricorn 😂 For lin yusen,it was only indicated on weibo that he's an aries lol so i guess swl and lin yusen share the same bday 😂
when I saw the teaser i was like wait what? is this a short drama? The way they shot the scenes it really looks like that. I do hope the prod team would change the filter because this is a republican drama not a modern one. It looks good but too modern..too HD!
felt like I've already watched this drama by watching reuters videos 😅 already knew the story with so many leaked high quality vids, feels like the actual drama would be just a rerun. Tbh its quite bothering for the prod team as they need to step up, ensure that their output would be better. this is the downside of reuters. and whats happening they already had a livestream, is it promotion period already?😅 zlh is so handsome!
Piece of Advice : You should never read reviews before watching something coz you might lose out on some good dramas!
When I've learned about the casting, that Zhao JinMai was the female lead, I already knew this would be good! never for once doubted her acting skills and decisions in choosing a drama to play! No one can put this girl down when it comes to acting as she nailed every character she portrayed. Im very much sure that my time would not be wasted and true enough, coz OG is a masterpiece! A youth drama youll ddefinitely watch over and over again! Every actors portrayed their roles so well. The cinematography and omg the OST is soo good! Zhao JinMai and Zhang LingHe once again proved their powerful onscreen dynamic and strong chemistry!
I would like to commend Zhang LingHe for doing a great job as Jiang QiaoXi! Others may not be satisfied because of your screentime but both of you created memorable scenes that resonates to the audience. Its the impact of actor's performance that is important not the length of screentime!
