OKAY EVERYONE, I CAUGHT UP AND EVEN SAW THE LITTLE SIDE STORY CLIP ON YOUTUBE. IVE BECOME A PERMANANT ATTACHMENT TO THE FLOOR. My review below, consisting of my journey of binging five episodes of KinnPorsche after only watching the Pilot when it aired!
So, initially, this series didn't appeal to me because of the trailer. One, I don't particularly like dark romance shows, and two, I'm not a 'smut' fan, and I usually skip those scenes, and I did skip the one in this show. BUUUUT, my best friend watched it and after coming here and seeing the lot of you enjoying the show, I decided to give it a chance.
Episode one wasn't bad, but I didn't connect with Kinn AT ALL. Porsche was someone I attached to off the bat, but it didn't feel enough to keep me coming back every week. So, I did stop watching it. My best friend URGED me to continue after episode six dropped and I FINALLY gave in.
Episode two really did pick it up for me. This show is a PERFECT mix of comedy and dark elements, which I was SO surprised to see this show pull off. I didn't know it was going to have so many comedic moments, nor did I know they would pull such a CHAOTIC character into it, AND ACTUALLY MAKE HIM FIT REALLY WELL INTO THE STORY. I was BLOWN away by Tong's acting and I LOVE him playing the role of Tankhun.
Episode three was really where Pete stole the spot from Porsche as my favorite character, I adore his personality, his smile, and his all together aura. He creates such a safe space for Porsche and I was able to see that progress as the episodes went. I know that his pairing is with Vegas and have a vague idea of their story, and I can't say I'm really looking forward to that. I'm not one to judge the ones who are, and I will watch, but I pray they change the darker elements to VegasPete from the novel. (The kidnapping part, fine, but the things that happen when he's kidnapped, I'm really scared to see if they will add it all.)
Episode four and five were amazing, but SIX, THE DAMNED SIXTH EPISODE WAS THE MOMENT I MOVED FROM MY EMOTIONAL ATTACHMENT TO PORSCHE, RIGHT OVER TO KINN. Kinn really shows the kind of person he really is when he's alone with Porsche in the woods. My favorite scene has to be where Porsche was teaching Kinn how to spear fish, he caught one, and was so excited to try again. Kinn was like a little boy in a candy store for the first time. Then the moment where Porsche was willing to cut off his hand for Kinn, even though Kinn is a sneaky shit, and had a way out for him the whole time. I really loved to see the lengths Porsche would go for Kinn. Lastly, the dreaded ending scene was so beautifully done. The way Kinn professed his love for Porsche without saying the words, but coating them under a speech to Porsche about freeing him. Miles did EXTRODINARY in that moment, to the point I was crying so hard, I could hardly see. I'm not one to cry, but I FELT those emotions through Kinn so deeply, I don't think I'll ever get over it. Down to the full of pure love kiss Porsche gave to Kinn as a return of his love, (at least, thats how I saw it.) Even deciding to go, Porsche was never far off. I did find myself asking "Who's the real bodyguard in this series?" when Kinn took the bullet for Porsche. It was beautifully devestating, and I'm never getting over this episode, not on my life.
Okay, now the special little side story, that was SO cute and much needed after the emotional turmoil we keep being stabbed with. The whole part with Kinn telling Porsche he can call his brother, down to Porsche lying his head on Kinn. Kinn was in pain when he did it, but hid it because at the same time, he felt relief, and all the stress he has to deal with, left his body in that second.
To wrap this LONGER THAN I MEANT REVIEW OF THE FIRST SIX EPISODES OF KINNPORSCHE, I am now addicted, and since I refuse to blame myself, can I blame all of you instead? LMAO
OKAY OKAY, I BINGED EPISODES 2-5 SO FAR AFTER ONLY SEEING THE FIRST EPISODE ON ITS PREMIERE DATE, AND IM ABOUT TO START EPISODE SIX. Listen, this show is FAR better than I thought it was going to be. I don't mean that in a negative way, but I do have specific tastes in romance shows, and the dark theme usually isn't for me. YET HERE I AM, BINGING THE REST. Now I get to watch week by week with you all after I finish episode six. Okay, sorry, just wanted to say that.
The amount of negative comments here are sick, yall need to learn to appreciate things in life, Dunk is a new…
THANK YOU. My Drama List used to be enjoyable but everyone coming here to be downright hateful-for what? I don’t mind criticism but there is a fine line between that and being hateful. I actually enjoy this show a lot and I feel afraid to even voice that here.
You should definitely do , all the contraversies of this show is about ending , some love it , some accept it…
Yes, thank you! I have seen a couple edits to know Nut is not an easy character at first, and a few to see that he does get some amazing development. I do know a little of his story and I know about Tarn. I formed an early opinion that Tofu existed to help Nut heal from his past, and I felt he deserved a second chance to be with Tarn, as I do know they didn't break up on their terms. I'm not sure how it ends, but I will be one of those who will be happy with either or ending! TikTok was hard to ignore when all the edits came out, so it did have me intrigued! I kind of like the idea of knowing a little of the story before I get into it, so I can see what I'll be up against when I have gathered ALL the context! I'll be starting this tomorrow, again, thank you!
You don't see Lyn, you see Mix, even though he's in his sister's body aside from a few moments. Also, Korn knows…
Hearing about it and seeing it are two completely different things. I tried to tell you how the show works, but you won't hear it. Stop forming opinions on things you haven't seen, and getting angry about it. You can't have an opinion on a show you haven't seen, but continue being loud about it, I guess.
The last time I trusted this couple, I was sobbing. Should I watch this? I'm really afraid of an unhappy ending, and I'm unsure if I can take it with this couple having ANOTHER one. ;-;
I'm seeing very mixed reviews on this show, and I was on here before, wondering if I should start it. So, I'm going to see if I can get new opinions now that it's ended. Is this worth the watch?
Please keep your negative comments about the series off my comment. I just want to post a theory. Let me know what you think.
There are several people who think the next episode preview seemed oddly like a dream sequence, and I agree. So, what if it is, and it’s Daonuea’s? I know, the car accident trope is played out, but what if that’s what happens, and this is all in Nuea’s little “coma dream”. The flower could play its significance in this scenario, by being placed by Nuea’s bedside.
By the way Nuea sped off all upset, it seems like a plausible possibility. I’m not sure if I would hate this, cause I’d actually be interesting in my opinion.
BRUH IS THIS EVEN A BL.... because when there is a trope of a girl in a guy's body and they start falling in love…
You don't see Lyn, you see Mix, even though he's in his sister's body aside from a few moments. Also, Korn knows it's Win. I hope you decide to watch and form another opinion because like you, I thought the same thing. The series ended up leaving a very lasting impression on me. It's funny, serious when it needs to be, and portrays the body switching flawlessly. This is all coming from a person who will drop a body swap show in an instant. I gave it a chance for EarthMix and yes, it's a BL. Korn is in love with Win, and visa versa.
