Tae Young cooks, cleans, does her laundry, listens to her without judging, buys her stuff and fixes her phone. I am not sure if sml can all all this consistently.

I wonder if the illegal bookies will change the terms of their deal with tae young and force kwon sook to win han ah reum.

Then kwon sook will have to choose. She can walk away or lose n retire, but tae young will die.

Or she can win, save tae young, but be unable to retire. That will give us a real k drama dun you think?

This show is better than expected and the characters are great.

I was thinking the US thing was actually for ah reum and not kwon sook. And that ppl have misunderstood the intentions of the ml.

Han Ah Reum is such a great character and she is so well acted. Her passion for boxing, her dreams and all her hardships despite being champion make her really stand out.

I really hope there is a 2nd match between ah reum and kwon sook and that both can give 100 percent.

Maybe jerk face is the chairman or chairwoman son. Living off his mother ill gotten gains.

I was thinking the US thing was for Ah Reum. Ty knows ks hates boxing. If he really cares about his athletes, he won't force her to box further. Ks could have misunderstood.

Han Ah Reum is so passionate and hardworking as a champion. I can't help but root for her. But if ks really gave it 100 percent, ah reum may not be her match.

There might be a third match. A second showdown between Kwon Sook and Ah Reum if their first match didn't go well? At least that is what I am hoping for. If there is a third match, then the show will have less time to be draggy.

yeah. he is very funny. I love how he can say he was as handsome as the sml when he was younger, with a straight face. I dun think the sml is handsome, but kwon sook father was damn funny when he said it.

all of these characters are so well acted. it's a pity my lovely boxer isn't that well liked as a kdrama.

The great comeback match for kwon sook.

Her regrets towards Jo Ah Ra who was a fantastic and flamboyant antagonist.

And Han Ah Reum carrying part of the show as the struggling champion. I sometimes forget she is supposed to be the antagonist cos nothing goes well for her despite being champion.

Maybe it's not Han Jae Min but his mother who is the chairman.

But yeah, Han Jae Min is well acted and makes the audience dislike him for his shadiness.

Yeah. I am hoping for one more rematch between Han Ah Reum.

Han Ah Reum is such a struggling champion that i sympathise with her even though she is supposed to be the antagonist.

And Lee Kwon Sook's dad is a great actor. From brutal trainer to overprotective and sad father. He treated kwon sook badly, so he deserves her cold shoulder, but i can't hate him. He is also very funny when he is together with tae young. I love their bromance!

All the main characters are such great actors! I really enjoy this show!

I hope Kwon Sook's first fight with Han Ah Reum ends inconclusively. This way, we can get one last and final fight where Kwon Sook fully embraces being a boxer and achieves her full potential.

Drama-ing all the way to only one fight with Han Ah Reum, would be slightly disappointing.

The Korea Times had an interview with the director and this is his vision for the adaptation from the novel:

"Throughout all the episodes, the story is about boxing and life. In life, there will be hardships. But boxing is about the determination to raise your guard and continue to move forward. And that resonated with me."

He added that the series will have a light-hearted side to it.

"You can think of it as a sports, romance drama. If you expected a hot-blooded sports genre or a melodrama, or a noir story about the cutthroat game rigging world, you will realize this series isn't about that," he said."

So to me, this is a light hearted, slice of life, coming of age, romance, kdrama with a boxing background.

It doesn't matter if the actresses dun look gritty and tough like real boxers. What matters is they can box adequately and deliver the drama of the struggles.

I think Kwon Sook, Jo Ah Ra and Han Ah Reum have all delivered memorable performances so far.

Yes! I am watching Uncanny Counter 2, Moving and Behind Your Touch.

But it is My Lovely Boxer that i keep thinking of! The acting and characters are so good!

Jo Ah Ra is so flamboyant and unforgettable despite being in only a few episodes. A perfect and deadly comeback opponent to showcase Kwon Sook's skills.

Han Ah Reum is the hardworking and bitter champion who doesn't get enough respect. I really sympathise with her.

And Kwon Sook is beautifully played by Kim So Hye. I was waiting for this for weeks and she delivered. She can be angry, vulnerable, happy, cute and determined. Great actress!

I also thought her donuts being taken away was funny.

But i still dun like donuts. She is not that great an actress haha!

Yup. I am enjoying this series.

I thought Kim So Hye was great as Lee Kwon Sook, especially the range of emotions she is able to portray. Her acting background and Cancer sign really helps. She was able to convey her emotions easily with her crying scenes at the end of episode 1.

Jo Ah Ra and Han Ah Reum were also very well acted. Jo Ah Ra was so flamboyant and colorful. A fantastic first opponent for Kwon Sook to overcome.

And Han Ah Reum is great as the bitter champion who can't get any respect. I sympathized with her even though she is the antagonist. That's how well written and acted her character is.

I sincerely hope there will be 3 fights. First with Jo Ah Ra. Second with Han Ah Reum that ends inconclusively. And a third and final fight with Han Ah Reum again.
