I just finished this drama and honestly? it’s Good Enough in my opinion.
This drama is quite Good in my opinion. The Storyline, the Production, the Music, the Acting, they were all done great.
especially since this is different from other historical power struggle kdramas.
This one felt more Humane.
I know most of them are more realistic cause which historical power struggle story doesn't end bloodied and heartbroken?
but watching an unrealistic drama where they value Decent Human Relationships was refreshing for a change.
What I appreciated most was the attention to detail. Every interaction felt intentional and meaningful.
From a man to a woman, a woman to a man.
From friend to friend, brother to brother.
From an official to a king.
All of it was so well thought out, the smallest gestures carried so much weight and I found myself loving those quiet, tender moments just as much as the grand scenes.
As for the cast, every actor nailed their role. They were all amazing. But if I had to pick a favorite?
Kim Si Yeol. His character stole my heart. He reminded me so much of Lee Bang Ji from Six Flying Dragons. Best swordsman, loyal, sensitive, lovable, funny and he has a heartbreaking backstory.
And the ending? Don’t even get me started. It was perfect.
Happy, satisfying, and most importantly it didn’t rely on unnecessary deaths or forced tragedy. Instead, it focused on the Ihwawon Inn gang living their best lives, each one ending up exactly where they were meant to be.
