Title Prison Playbook Spoiler
I cant’t believe I waited this long to watch this drama, despite the numerous recommendations I’d received since it’s released. Never expected to laugh this hard about a prison drama yet here we are. Everything was so well-written and the acting was really good. I’ve read though about some people being upset at Looney’s ending and felt it was unfair that it happened to the only gay character in the drama but it was never about the fact that he was gay. Ofc it’s why we like him and what makes the drama so realistic, is because they portray everyone as they would actually be in real life. Not everyone who goes to jail is inherently a malicious or bad person and ofc people who are gay, lesbian, queer exist too and should be represented in Korean dramas more regularly. It was so nice to see that Looney’s cellmates didn’t care to treat him any differently after they found out bc it really doesn’t speak to his character or the reason why he’s there in that prison. They accepted him and even when they ever got mad at him it was because he was disrespectful or caused fights on purpose. Being gay has nothing to do with his character as a person or his addiction. So, in that sense we should try to understand that they are separate things and realize the road to recovery is not easy for addicts, no matter what their intentions or who they like. The result would have likely turned out to be the same for anyone, because if not at the setup after his release, then it would have happened numerous times while he was in rehab. It’s just not simply realistic for someone who’s had those kinds of mental demons to recover straight away, its always a constant battle every single day and sometimes the reality is that you just lose. That’s why alcoholics and all kinds of addicts keep going to support meetings for the rest of their lives because everyday is a possibility that a relapse could occur. A big theme in this drama is luck. Whether or not you think any of them actually did anything bad or deserves their sentence is up to you. What we can all agree on is that they all had shitty luck. Looney’s ending is tragic but it’s also not unlike what usually happens to people in similar circumstances. The actor who played his role portrayed it perfectly.

I never really ask for a second season but I hope this gets one. Was it a bit absurd, yes of course lol. You can’t watch a Korean drama and not just laugh to yourself at certain situations. But it was so addicting and every week just felt like a long wait for the next episode to come around. You can tell how comfortable the cast was with each other and that clearly showed in their chemistry. I would be just as interested if they somehow continued the show with perhaps a more concrete ending for Vincenzo and Cha-young. I want to see Vincenzo see his goddaughter. I want to see Cha-young being exposed to Vincenzo’s actual mafia life as a boss and his family. And for her to become the actual mafia wife. I want to see the tenants of Geumga Plaza spend their hard-earned gold and buy more expensive, black clothes to wear as a family lol. And of course, I want to see more complex, and challenging new antagonists for them to play chess against. Here’s to hoping ??

Title Vincenzo Spoiler
I get why people are confused by Vincenzo walking Cha-Young out when he could have helped Han-seo, but with the way it ended and the preview, it seems even more confusing and frustrating that some people would care about him so much to say things like “tbh don’t care about the FL” or “the romance doesn’t really do it for me. I just hope he lives.” Cha-Young may have only got shot in the shoulder but Han-seo got shot in the arm. They’ll be fine. But Cha-Young is the woman he loves. Han-Seo is redeeming himself but people forget he’s only switched sides halfway through the drama to avoid getting killed himself. I like them both but to expect someone to make those kinds of rational decisions when someone you really care about gets hurt is a bit much. He’s a powerful and smart man but he’s still just a guy with weaknesses and Cha-Young happens to be one of them. The fact that people stuck with the drama this long to disregard her character as a FL in the end just when their favorite guy got hurt is frustrating. There’s always a “could’ve, would’ve, should’ve” in every scenario, do you really expect the writers to just have it go smoothly and perfectly every time??? What kind of boring and pathetic drama would that be?? At least wait until the next episode to see what happens before you make assumptions and criticisms yeesh

moral of the story: lie to a girl about your identity, make her join your company, obsess and follow her around everywhere and make her your dream, get her to believe she’s making a good deal and get her removed as the CEO. and bam, you get the girl. meanwhile, beat up the other dude who gives everyone constructive criticism that actually helped them to become better, cause your fragile ego can’t take the hit. ig the writer wants to make the audience believe that choosing Nam Do San to the very end is the same as following your “dreams” even if it leads to so much turmoil and confusion every step of the way. while making somewhat cautious choices in following your own ambition and remembering the guy who was actually there to give you good feedback is akin to a “boring reality.” if that’s the lesson she was trying to teach, then i’m out lol. i’ve never heard or seen such bullshit in my life. but good for her on taking a job at her sister’s company in the end. hopefully, they get more screen time and the relationship repairs slowly.

LOL what a mess this entire drama has become. I had a glimmer of hope before I watched it that NDS and everyone would have some groundbreaking growth or realization about themselves, but in actuality, what happened was that they all became dumber. 10 episodes and who knows how many months of work down the drain. All because NDS decides to take a gamble on a global company simply as a way to beat HJP and leave for Silicon Valley with Dal Mi. One thing I liked was the possibility of repairing the relationship Dal Mi has with her mother. I mean the one other good part about the episode was that at least Samsan Tech became a better team and learned to work and rely on each other, which is a little better than how they were at the beginning and fighting over company shares. The sad and most ridiculous part about this though was the fact that they were all united for a simple matter of just not wanting to rely on HJP’s Plan B. They were right ofc to not to take the simple and easiest solution but be determined to win. But it was just so shitty that they wanted it for the WRONG reasons. Nam Do because obviously he’s literally the dumbest dunce there is and has a limited POV and one track mind about his goals and dreams. Dal Mi bc of her pride and longing that Nam Do had changed for the better so she jumped on that ship. Yong San for his grudge against HJP (which btw, I’m sorry, but there is a difference between being incredibly harsh, bullying/abusing someone into a corner that they feel so helpless they decided to commit suicide vs pointing out legitimate flaws and giving constructive criticism to an actual business that affects people’s lives and jobs. If you can’t see that mental illness is something that is deeply rooted and also due to a person’s specific brain chemistry, then you need to do your research), and Saha and Cheol San who just saw the 3 billion. I mean.... they have a mentor and they didn’t think to consult him about the deal? Or......... idk...lol....at least read it carefully before signing??? Also shame on Alex, idk if he thought he was being clear about that but now it just feels like he was no different than Injae’s stepdad after all. Agh, at this point everyone’s just disappointed me so much. I’m just going to keep watching to see if HJP at least gets some happy ending. At this point, this ship and company can really just do whatever their hearts desire like I really don’t care what happens. So immature. ESPECIALLY the three Stooges of the company. Dumb, Dumber, and Delusional. I mean really....they got into Sandbox bc of one person. That one person prevented them from giving away their secrets and AI away to corporate frauds looking to steal ideas. He even gave them a Plan B if they failed. Became their mentor. Told them ACTUAL truth to their face that they’re not good CEOs at all and they need to find someone better. And when they do find someone better, they find success but again at every turn, disrespect and disregard his input bc of stupid personal reasons that they bring in to their business and egos. Imagine what would have happened if he hadn’t told Dal Mi to record the meeting she had with Injae Group and they had actually signed that deal?? They would be hella screwed. But guess what? They’re still going to get screwed now. And in the preview, Nam Do’s fragility can’t take the fact that he made a bad call for everyone so they get into a fist fight. HOW DUMB CAN YOU GET? Like it blows my mind that the writer wasted all this time on such nonsense, meanwhile, none of the female characters get the same growth and screen time BC OF THE THREE STOOGES BULLSHIT. Honestly, just make a spin off with HJP and Grandma. Replace everyone else. Don’t care.

Have you noticed that their mentor went missing on the Demo day? He did not even show up on the most important…
actually, you know what. Never mind, lol. I asked about logic and it’s clear from scrolling down to see your replies to people, there was never any to begin with. Just a lot of broken grammar, cuss words, and inability to take criticism. I take back my last words, its clear you probably won’t even understand all of what I wrote. In any case, have good day :)

Have you noticed that their mentor went missing on the Demo day? He did not even show up on the most important…
Can you take one minute and listen to the tone and the way you’re speaking right now?
“He did not even show up on the most important day for them?” - bro. Are you his boss? Do you know what’s written in his contract? Forget about the fact that Dal Mi sends him like a hundred messages and questions each day and he takes the time out of his day to answer each and every one. Or maybe the reason she even met NDS was because he made a bargain for her sake. The fact that he became a mentor SPECIFICALLY for her and Samsan Tech. Gave her confidence and revised her notes for the Hackathon. Tried to be Samsan Tech’s Plan B so they knew they had a backup plan even though he got stopped by both of NDS’s friends. Told Dal Mi not to feel pressured by the love drama going on and his feelings for her and to just focus on the company after she found out about the letters. Is it also not enough for you that he prevented Dal Mi from making a disastrous deal with Injea Group and was the one who told her to secretly record the meeting? Should I keep going? Do you need more examples? He has literally been there EVERY episode for her and her grandma without zero credit in return. I don’t know about you but the one day, he gets assaulted and blamed for someone else’s suicide and mental health, I think he is allowed to stay home and take time for himself. Jesus. I mean really this attitude of “Did you notice he left them alone by themselves because of his issues going against SDM, NDS, Yong San.” or “He has no excuse not to be there” or “Don't find him lame excuses. Poor boy, HJP the mogul of investment felt he did not deserve to do his job as Judge and mentor?... lol.” And then also calling him a “c*unt* This is seriously appalling and immature if this the way you’re reacting to the events right now. Especially considering the fact that he actually did try to be there for them towards the end but got stopped by Yong San. ESPECIALLY considering that they didn’t inform him of the deal or think to ask for his advice before they signed the papers because Nam Do’s entire reason for doing everything he does is to beat HJP and run after Dal Mi. Yong San for his grudge and also Dal Mi for her pride. So why is the blame for all this solely on HJP for the one time they made a mistake? I’m really just trying to see how you came up with such an insensitive and failed logic.

You know, this is my first time watching a drama with Nam Joo and Kim Seon and I mainly started because of Suzy,…
All of this being said, it’s not that I don’t have sympathy for Do San. He’s struggled a lot mentally and emotionally for YEARS, and that isn’t something to just brush under the rug just for the fact that he’s a man in his twenties. People in their 20s are just as lost as he is and it’s actually very normal. My issues with him aren’t related to that. It’s just the mere idea that you can fix these kinds of thoughts and feelings about yourself in an instant by attaching yourself to someone and to keep lying to everyone. That is NOT the healthy solution. He’s just making this more complicated for everyone including himself.

You know, this is my first time watching a drama with Nam Joo and Kim Seon and I mainly started because of Suzy, after watching Vagabond and WWWS. So I really have no investment in whatever fan wars are happening right now, but if you can’t see how problematic Nam Do San is behaving right now then you must be blind. This entire show was supposed to be about personal growth and the independent struggles each of these people have in the business and start-up world, with of course, some romance on the side. But now it’s become an entangled mess because it’s like Nam Do San completely threw away his earlier ambitions and dreams for the sake and obsession of one person who just happened to make him feel good about himself. How is that NOT unhealthy? I mean, I was really critical of him the past few episodes and I had hope that since all the lies were now exposed and he started to be more honest and open in front of his dad, that maybe...just MAYBE I could see him with Dal Mi after having a bit of character growth. But nope lol. The woman told him to give her some space and the next thing he does is stalk her to a bar?? And then leaves her there at the playground? And lol, what the hell is up with the idea of that stupid suit. At least Ji Pyeong is actually investing his time and giving USEFUL advice and preparation to get her head straight for Demo Day. And not even for the mere reason that he wants her to like him back but because he genuinely wants her hard work to be validated. He even cleared whatever misunderstandings she had about Nam Do’s lies in her head to help her get in the mindset she needed to be in for Demo Day. He was completely honest instead of being opportunistic and giving excuses for it. Meanwhile, everything Nam Do does is centered on just getting Dal Mi back and one-upping Ji Pyeong. PLEASE FIX YOUR SELF ESTEEM AND INFERIORITY COMPLEX FIRST instead of trying to find someone that will “complete” the gaps for you. That’s not how relationships work. Two people have to be able to stand on their own first before they can stand together. How else are they going to be able to lean on each other during tough times if they’re not at least strong and sturdy as they are? It’s just so pathetic to watch him try but try for all the wrong reasons and not take accountability like a proper adult does.

Okay, I love this drama and yeah Nam Do San is a really nice guy who does care for Dal Mi and her grandma (like even the Ji Pyeong- Dal Mi shippers can see it since he created an app to help out her gm), but dude, enough of the excuses. Like yes, he’s struggling and yes, he wants to be able to tell her [no matter how badly he fails at it each and every time] and YES, Ji Pyeong missed his timing with Dal Mi but THAT IS NOT AN EXCUSE FOR DO SAN’S IMMATURE BEHAVIOR. Having low self esteem bc of your parents or pressure to succeed is not an excuse to keep lying to yourself and to drag down everyone else with you. It’s literally selfishness at this point. I mean the guy literally lied about a freaking scrunchie just to make himself feel better. He keeps doing all these things hoping that whatever memories he can make in the present will wipe out everything that Ji Pyeong SELFISHLY did for Dal Mi and her grandmother in the past and it’s not fair. I mean I could actually ship them if he wasn’t literally a loser about the way he handles everything like a little kid. He lies to himself, he lies to his parents, he lies to Dal Mi, to Ji Pyeong, and he makes false promises to his friends hinging his entire business plan on the relationship he currently has. And he wonders why he can’t make a good CEO???!!! Like I know it’s freaking hard and I’m trying to have sympathy for him but it’s just getting less and less each episode especially when I see Ji Pyeong. Ji Pyeong literally came from an orphanage, had no family members or friends, earned his cash money *WITHOUT CHEATING* and used it to become a successful investor. He literally would do anything for Dal Mi’s grandma and he even becomes the sandbox underneath Dal Mi’s feet and gives her fair criticism and advice to become a good CEO. AND HE GETS ZERO CREDIT IN RETURN. And people are wondering why, after holding it all in and watching from the sidelines, he had such an outburst at the one person he cared for the most in the last episode?? So he made a freaking mistake one time. Nam Do’s been making them CONSISTENTLY for the past 5-6 episodes!
