So i have also finished and i like the ending. It was a great ensemble cast (there are 4 main leads not 2, deal with it) and even the ending was more akin to a western TV show with a look into what a season 2 could look like. The actual end of the drama is at the 42:29 minute mark. I might have put the 3-minute outlook into the future into a special episode but alas I actually would consider this a happy ending.
1. The true happy ending belongs to Zishang and Jinfan and I am very happy and pleased with that. The only Gong Lady deserves a happy ending and should there ever be a season 2 I want a grand wedding :D
2. Ziyu and Weishan are together, with a new journey on the horizon and new dangers ahead of them (that's what the last 5 minutes is about in the end). Weishan found a family in the Gongs and Ziyu learned he could trust his family in all matters. He matured greatly by the end and will be a great leader.
3. Shangjue and Qian are separated but do love each other. However, they are following their own path unwilling to compromise. It is a shame that Qian's goal was glossed over, even though I think the moment they revealed that she is the last member of the clan that was destroyed by Wufeng hers is a revenge story. She even succeeded in poising the wufeng leader, but it was never really shown. She is on no one's side but her own until her Clan is revenge. But with a child on the way (and I think that's true) there is hope for a future and if there is a season 2 their path will cross again. And until then they are connected by the flowers.
All in all 10/10, great acting, great music, great story, great camera work, great everything I truly enjoyed each episode.
Aww what a sad episode, i love that ill-fated romance here. everyone is just emotionally damaged. Unlike others I think a baby was conceived in this episode :P, I hope we do get to see a kiss between SJ and SGQ. before their inevitable showdown. Also, GZY finally looks like someone ready to protect the clan, good job on you! Unlike others, I do not believe Zishang is the wufeng lady at the end of the episode, while they sound similar it might just be because it is the same dialect. The reason for that is, that when Wufeng was established and operated Zisheng was a child same as GSJ. Wufeng vs Gong is a product of the older generation and not the young one.
well i certainly hope everyone who complains that couple number 1 doesn't get enough attention is happy now since we just had 2 whole episodes with them. very romantic episodes today. everyone acted very well and I have to say when ever mother raven shows up on the screen I am glued, such a great character and actor. Also, it looks like the only person with a love triangle will be Gong Zi Shang, which is really an interesting approach for a CDrama lol. i am looking forward to the hottub scene tomorrow.
aww as funny as Zishang scenes are, I do got fuzzy warm feelings when Jin Fan gave her the lantern. Did you guys notice the tears in her eyes, aww. so cute.
I really liked this episode, I can't wait for the 2 gong men to realize they married the spies. Zishang as always is so precious and if Jin Fan isn't stepping up his game someone else might just swoop in there and take her away. (which might actually be the endgame for zishang, now that i think about it)
ahh, Jin Fan unless it's a red herring the trailer gives his end away :( and this is so not fair. poor guy. Also, I really love how the actress for Zishang makes really small expressions to show the crack in the mask, as again showcased twice in ep10. I am also curious why Prince Hua is interested in her. I also really liked the shot for the kiss scene and the Go scene, it was done very beautifully.
I feel so bad for Zishang. Hiding behind a fake personality because there is no path for her in the Gong Family. Maybe she will survive and is able to leave that family of hers behind. Also with the new trailer, I think what she is currently working on is that gun type of weapon that she uses?
I think there is more to the elder young miss. I feel she’s a relevant piece and what we see might just be an…
yeah i am curious too. on one hand our assassins think the young miss in no push over, but yet she herselfs tells us she is a weak women lol- i do love her though and she better survives the end.
What in the world is this rating?? This has been an outstanding Drama so far, with probably the best cinematography, direction, and camerawork in the entire year of Chinese Dramas. This needs to be picked up by international streaming services.
Well, i certainly hope she tells him about the kiss next week, lol. so he can be ashamed of himself. Such a delightful show. The rating feels very underrated.
