I agree that whole typical anti gun PSA rhetoric really frustrated me even though I really like it for the most…
Yes now that I think about it you're right. There's very little nuance basically like no proper research and no thought put into the script when it comes to this topic.
Big fat LOL to the lie they tried telling most of the show that Tong was better looking than Joe! As if. Anyway,…
No see that's the whole point! Tong is 'better looking' in the audience and fanclub and the industry and sponsors' eyes because he's rich and has high ratings and so he has power over people. No matter what his looks or his actual talent he's the kind of guy who enjoys his 'celebrity' status more than he enjoys being an ''actor" unlike Joe who actually enjoys working and is actually talented. But Tong is rich and powerful so he's better looking because people are shallow. We all know fanclubs will go to some extreme lengths to 'protect' their 'celebrity' for the oddest of things we all know this. No matter how manipulative said celebrity might be. Fanclubs tend to get attached. They don't see that the guy might be the real ugly duckling unlike Joe's character not even Ming until he finds out the truth about Tong, there's a reason there was an actual dialogue in the start somewhere I think Joe said something like are you in Tong's fanclub and Ming confirmed it so the whole idea of the story is all about how protective and toxic fanclubs can be when they don't know the truth that some idiot who lacks talent is acting all high and mighty solely on the basis of his stand in. Even though Tong is so irresponsible about his career to the point where he enjoys his celebrity status and doesn't actually like working so he doesn't even like the 'acting' part of his damn job! He's just a talentless hack who manipulated everyone to get his celebrity status. There's actually a cognitive bias called 'Halo Effect" that's what this is all about. If a person is a certain way in their presentation which is some shallow reason like they have a ton of money or have classically good looks but it can also be manipulated if you have enough money basically you can manipulate people into believing you are more talented or kind or 'hotter' than you actually are.
ans also joe is way much better looking than any of the characters in this bl why they want to creat like ming…
Up is freaking gorgeous and so is Poom ! but the whole ugly duckling arc for his character is the whole point, because they're showing how things in any media any industry has shallow standards when it comes to 'looks' and anyone who has appears a certain way and Mek is just average looking for me personally, i don't like him at all his acting has been pretty terrible in the past and i know the guy from Pete Kao days. Like I said, just my personal opinion but Tong is the kind of guy who manipulates everyone just because his ratings are high, and anyone can get high rating by acting a certain way towards their sponsors and fanclub. even if it's all manipulation and the person isn't even ACTUALLY TALENTED like Joe's character ACTUALLY IS. And still he gets shut outed from the industry because Tong is JEALOUS of him and his talent and does everything in his power to ruin him going so far as to manipulate Ming to do his bidding just because Ming had this false belief of Tong being talented which is they reveal the whole story about it in the second half. So, basically the reason he keeps saying he wants to leave the industry and behaves so irresponsible towards his acting career is because he knows his acting is shit and he struggles with this knowing someone like Joe would be better suited to the role and if he knows then so does everyone else who works on the sets and people in the agency they know what's going on but can't do anything because Tong is rich and has high ratings. They can't touch him. So, he becomes obsessed with keeping Joe in his Stand In position trying to use his connections, power, money to influence people to do the same. Because he is well aware that the moment someone in the industry understands what's going on they will ditch him, and he will lose his position. Including Ming. That's why he takes it so personal when he finds Ming being with Joe every time, he finds out he becomes jealous not because he has any feelings for Ming but because Ming is just as rich and powerful as him and the only person who can actually go against him if he stopped supporting Tong.
