Okay here's my take on this. See a lot of the relationships in the series, especially the bromances, you'll see the person will act all mean but when it comes down to it, they'll give their life to have that person's back. And the doctor isnt just any doctor he's one of the nine families. Even I was so angry when even Baron Chen and Qiling took part in drugging WX but it was to keep him from putting himself in danger. Basically you'll see this in the families so much xD so basically the doctor does care for him rather obviously he's just not the type to express it .
