Hola! I have had the intention to watch a BL for months now, but nothing yet. Please let me know how is the romance…
i wouldn't say breakups necessarily? if I remember properly but there are fights between the main couple but they get resolved fairly quickly. As for a love triangle there is one but not full-blown as it is obvious from the beginning how it will go

i think its all very much up to interpretation but the director has said that they did not die and someone explained…
That i dont really know at all, but they are releasing the blue ray dvd documetary of the movie i think it was? and there a deleted scene of minato's mom and the teacher calling out to them and them turning too look at them(like in the poster) is at the end of the movie. In that scene you can also see the kids are kind of on the train tracks? or the train tracks are in the frame so again its like these kids have come back to the real world, the place they used to play in is back to how it was(it is no more this "fictional" place they created where that place was just a wide open field without the existence of the train tracks or gate that closed it off) i dont know if i explained that right. https://twitter.com/akihiko89/status/1760307657821573442?t=xqR_7ObRLyLch0-UVAFpIA&s=19 link with info about this new version of the movie and deleted scenes

I'm really enjoying this show but one thing that holds it back is it's short episodes. If it had longer episodes…
i totally agree i dont think it was okay for the dad to leave the way he did regardless of whatever he felt that was really weird of him but again its still slightly odd to me just because of the fact that yes he left but was it really long enough for her to feel its okay to start a relationship with another person? i just pose the question: if it was him in her shoes and he rekindled a relationship with an ex girlfriend would we have accepted it? or if its still fuyu but she went back to a ex boyfriend instead of a girlfriend would we have accepted it the same? we most likely wouldn't have. and yes of course i understand its not the same situation fuyu is not straight she is a lesbian living in a homophobic society but regardless of that she still did marry that man and have a child with him. he broke his responsibility in that relationship but so did she. i feel so sorry for her, she represents my biggest fears as a queer women, being forced into a life i dont want but still i would like to believe that if ever (hopefully never) I'm forced into a life like hers i wouldn't do that to my partner even if i dont have feelings for them and if i did it would only be fair to see it as it is, cheating, regardless of the situation. the dad did wrong he shouldn't have left but i really really wonder if we would have reacted the same if the situation was different

I am so confused. Did they die ?
i think its all very much up to interpretation but the director has said that they did not die and someone explained before that maybe the scene when they are running in the field at the end perhaps didnt actually happen. it was just in a sense to demonstrate how they are now free from the prejudices that held them captive and are embarking on a new journey togther but that is just one take and they are many. its very open. this is a link someone shared with me where the director says they didnt die http://blogs.sydneysbuzz.com/my-15-minutes-with-hirokazu-kore-eda-monster-cannes-2023-and-tiff-2023-688fc35683b7
uhm im having a bit of a hard time watching this simply cause its so so so weird. Like i don't know if they are gonna tell us other things in the drama to make sense of this but she is literally cheating on her husband and i really refuse to ignore that just beacuse like "oh shes lesbian, shes had a hard time, now the love of her life is back she can do whatever" LIKE NOOOOO i really really wanted to like this cause wow when i saw clips I thought it was just an enemies to lovers trope and i eat that up all the time AND its lesbian??!?!?!?!? like come on what more would i want but now we plain dead kinda just romanticizing cheating(i say this for now just cause we havent gotten an acknowledgement that IT IS cheating) so for me as the plot stands its just super weird like i dont care if its "realistic" or whatever this is isnt for me and thats okay

It was beautiful. They took eveything really slow which I always love in a good movie. They had those beautiful elements of what I admire in both Japanese and Korean film. The setting of it in winter also made it all the more stunning but somehow I didn't get enough, I really wish they had given me more. I wanted more of Yoon Hee and Jun but we really barely got anything not even flash backs or atleast more of what they talked about when they finally met, that's the one error in this movie for me. But it was beautiful. I think one of my favorite parts of this movie is the mother daughter relationship. A truly stunning watch. It's sentimental and lonely, so lonely
9/10 for me

A beautiful movie. I think I enjoyed the stunning shots more than anything, you could tell the movie was pure quality. interesting plot and I will always love me some rich people 'metaphorical slander'. something that was a turn off for me(if I can even call it that-its really small) is the main actresses sometimes exaggerated facial expressions, I don't enjoy that unless for comedic relief but thats not to say the acting was all in all bad that was just a little thing. The ending would also be the movies weak point, it was just very predictable as expected with a movie like this. Women seeks glamorized life and finally is able to reach all that wealth but quickly becomes disillusioned and goes back to her ordinary life as she remembers what is actually important. we've seen it a hundred times.

I give it a 8/10

perspective is a killer. I saw an edit on twitter of "cause and effect" in monster and i cant stop thinking about how perfect it suits this movie. Throughout the movie we are taken back to the scene where theres a fire at the bar and in every take, starting at the fire, we discover something new, about the characters and their stories. The entire story shifts and changes as we go back to that fire. There was a start, a cause, and effected everyone differently. Everyone saw it in their own perspective forcing us to also see it in that perspective until it is no longer a perspective but the full truth. And we are forced to see the monster for who it is. Is this a BL? or Bromance?
more like a bromance i think? like i dont know if there is enough to call it a bl. they just obviously mean a lot to eachother
Replying to The BL Fan Nov 26, 2023
That's subjective. One dies in the end, but the underlying message is that both men ended up happy in their situation.
okay I see thank you :)
