I recall Zhi Nan answering Han Su's call on Yi Peng's phone rather provocatively - Zhi Nan later on admitted that her words were dripping with sarcasm on the line to unsettle Han Su during the tense exchange after Zhi Nan found out that Han Su and SuSu are the same person. Zhi Nan's actions were typical of that of the "other woman" in cuckold situations.

It was equally annoying that it was ZhiNan's phonecall that disrupted that cozy tete-a-tete between Han Su and Lou Ma under her malfunctioned working desk, spoiled Lou Ma's dinner plans.
On the phonecall you mentioned, I was aghast that Han Su agreed with ZhiNan's views that she shouldn't feel bad or responsible for Lou Ma's feelings. Gosh, he was the most earnest guy who was hopelessly devoted to her, which she ghosted after the call with ZhiNan - really brutal. That Wizard lego may just be a token of how she regards Lou Ma like that high school admirer who left her sweets - too vague and ambiguous. Glad that Han Su left for New York, and left behind that dumbass ZhiNan to be with her brokeass Zilu.
By the way, thanks for posting the novel link - Han Su's ending there was way better than the drama.
Isn't rather unbelievable, that such a sensible and charismatic lawyer like Han Su would seek relationship advice from ZhiNan (who previously cuckolded her) and has a track record of lousy/broken relationships? It almost felt as if the screenwriter needed to abruptly end the show, so used ZhiNan to cause Han Su to ghost Luo Ma. In view of Han Su's subtle look at Lou Ma when he was under her table, it didn't look "motherly" at all.
YiPeng's gaslighting letter and her mother's shocking remarriage probably unsettled her emotional bearings, but for a lawyer to be at loss for words with a fawning intern is rather lame.
Afterall, Han Su's character in reality is commonplace in the legal profession - interns and junior lawyers practically fawn, swoon and transform into I'd-Do-Anything-Nancys once they are charmed/bewitched by an attractive senior lawyer's charisma and intellect. Some would even enter into successful/meaningful relationships, as long as there's a meeting of the minds - lawyers are very much sapiosexuals. The original author of this novel, namely Liu Cui Hu, is a lawyer and clearly knows this. Hopefully more of her works will be dramatised on screen.

Han Su is a sapiosexual, which is common place amongst lawyers - she needs to be attracted to the person's intelligence to form a relationship with him.
Noticeably, she's always praising Luo Ma for his work competence and being better than her when she was his age as an intern, hence her easy and subtle smiles when with Luo Ma. Her body language which gravitates towards Luo Ma, is very telling. She's probably constraining herself, due to the age gap, hence she kept carping about not interested in love although her body language suggests otherwise. Why look longingly at Luo Ma's empty desk and tokenising the Wizard lego if she feels nothing for him? She totally bewitched Luo Ma, and she's conflicted in her own spell.
She broke up with Qu YiPeng without qualms, because she didn't respect him being such a sloth at work who didn't have the fortitude to complete his article - it was rather emasculating when she completed YiPeng's half-drafted article for him, indirectly telling him that she could do his work for him as he slept.
Han Su only puts up with Gao Peng as a client - she has no respect for his knowledge as a foodie, and could barely look him in the eye when she tried to entertain the idea of a marriage of convenience. She openly told the Uncle Zhong that she doesn't like Gao Peng, which is unequivocally clear that Gao Peng has zero appeal for her.
