I believe this is a BL. The ML loved Gi-tae so much I mean his family isn't on his mind.
The beginning of ep 10 says it all.

But I beg to differ for season 1 and season 2 he was the Protagonist who was going to help save his people.I am still watching the whirlwind and the ML is shocking me damn my jaw is on the floor. He says I need 1 month, 1 week still things pop up.The ML here isn't a good guy at all not in the slightest he just has a heroistic view.He scares me he can go so low I won't even recognize him anymore.

I haven't finished it yet but I am sure he would get what's coming to him just bear with it.

I don't know if you watch anime a good example of this character is Eren. Cersei Lannister from Game of Thrones as well. It's know as a necessary Evil for light to come out.They are know as anti-heroes.

I never called you a sadist I was trying to explain the art of the show.Yes it has been recorded and has its end but watching the first part of the show in 1:1 ratio and the ending would be giving you the whole synopsis of the show without watching it. The reason for explaining the 4th wall is that the directors made us part of the audience but the audience didn't have a say in the increase of the time, the viewership is what gave them more time the game master decided if the game should continue or not. Think about the camera part of the show when all the cameras blacked out. What was the point? is it for dramatic effect?

let's not talk about how the game was shot in 16:9 aspect ratio and the real story was in 1:1
I would also classify this show as an indie show it has all the signs of indie storytelling.

Everyone is saying it's gruesome and sadistic let me tell you something the show broke the 4th wall now think about it there is a game master (Architect) and the watchers. Who do you think the watchers are they are you and I we are the watchers the directors, screenwriters and others are the Architects. The more we watched the more time was given I mean they were pleading for help did we really do anything about it. At the end remember that we ended up not seeing anything I mean think about it if you weren't a watcher why weren't we allowed to see when the cameras were shut off.So you can call it all the horrible names you want but you watched it or fast forwarded through it you still were interested in how it would end. In life we have people like you who call others name even though they participated in the viewership they do it to feel better about themselves but you made yourself an audience and you can never take that back.

Did you know that we the viewers are also considered watchers that influenced the game by watching it we influenced the show as well.The show broke the 4th wall we were the watchers the more we watched the more time was given to them.Those who say we are sadist and watched it all also gave them more time but are saying that it was gruesome but they still watched it. In life there are people who say things are bad but still observe and that's who those with the low ratings are.
